I wish I could get flower , they mow them down before they get a chance . Lol I was surprised at how much they like to eat them. They ate the ones on the edges. I've been putting out corn in hopes of keeping them from eating my crops before they mature. I can't say that it's helped, but the coons sure are fat.

Well I had a good weekend down on the farm except for the random rain shower we got Friday kind of halted my operation for a bit. I was able to get my 2 acre field mowed in preparation for spraying and planting fall food plots. I also mowed and cleared all of the ATV paths as well. From what I saw this weekend while in the woods and also from checking the camera we left out over a feeder we have a very healthy population of does and fawns at our place they were everywhere!
Oh and to Mr. Jon Snows point I sure do have a lot of fat coons running around. Every time a deer was at the gravity feeder eating a raccoon was waiting underneath for anything that fell to the ground.

Every time a deer was at the gravity feeder eating a raccoon was waiting underneath for anything that fell to the ground. I think I need a gravity feeder. I haven't looked at them before, but anything to keep the coons from eating the bulk of it would be nice. I wish the deer would chase the coons away; they'll chase each other away. I got a video of treehead being chased away by a doe. It doesn't seem that any of them chase away big 10. That's wonderful that you have so many does and fawns! Those buck bait girls will come in handy this fall. I wish I had a few more. I thought that I'd take one this year, but I don't think I will as I didn't see any fawns.

Well, I planted some more seeds today. It's a little late for chufa, but I planted a little. I planted some Ambush and winter greens too; now I need rain.
It was HOT! I had to hose off several times.
I think I see a couple new bucks, but photos not good. I'm sending this Cuddeback back. I got another Browning.
One buck looks like it has a tine sticking out to the side. What does one call this? It doesn't drop; it sticks out sideways.

I got a nice plot of fall brassicas planted last night. Mixture includes turnips, rape & kale. Now just need a nice timely rain. Will be putting in one more plot next week.

The plan for the weekend is to round up 3 small plots & set up new shooting house I bought, it's a 5x5 with a metal roof . I'll finally have a spot to get out of the rain & drink my ☕️

Tilled up my final brassicas plot last night, approx. 1.5 acres. Intent is to get it seeded and cultipacked no later than this weekend. Only food plot work remaining after that is to spot spray some roundup on weeds in beans, then need to do a bunch of tree stand work. My free time is pretty well spoken for for the next 30-60 days.
I like that shooting house iceman !

I plan on discing & planting next weekend as I took Monday off to make sure rain don't spoil my plans . I feel alittle pressure to get them in but I am planting in the southern part of the state so I should still be ok . Steiny the blind turned out good , finally a place for bad weather hunts !

I tilled up half my plot (3/4 acre total) and had it ready to plant winter peas and oats. It started to pour before I got it in the ground. This evening it looked like by tomorrow morning I will be able to run the tiller over it again and plant. Picked up a pound and a half of turnips, some chicory and raddishes that I am going to plant along one edge and see how it does.
The other half is clover and looks good.

Dad sprayed heavy last week and we have plans to Bush hog, till, and plant tomorrow. Forecast is calling for the best chances of rain we've seen in a while the starting Weds and going through the weekend. I'll try to take some pics.

Looks like anyone who planted this week timed it right. We've had rain every day since Monday and looks like we are getting quite a bit over the next week too.

We're getting pounded today. I planted a couple weeks ago. Some plants are coming up good, but others are just sprouting. They'll be very happy now.
It's so much fun for me to see the plants grow. My wife's dad was a farmer. She said that he rarely left home as he felt he had to stay home to watch the crops grow.
