It now appears that the long awaited permitting for dog training grounds will get final adoption at the September 2016 NRC meeting. www.in.gov/nrc/files/lsa14477_timeline.pdfThe package includes several other interesting and held back rule amendments. Held back mainly because of the high fence ruling that DNR/NRC did not have authority over privately held wildlife. Now that Senate Enrolled Act 109 has passed and been signed that authority will return to DNR/NRC as of July 1, 2016. Jack

The rules amendment proposed last year by the NRC including dog training grounds was held up because of the high fence finding that the DNR had no authority over privately-held wildlife. The legislature returned that authority this session so the proposed rule is moving forward. I expect it to become final at the September meeting maybe sooner. The packet of rules that was delayed is here and the dog training rule amendment is on page 20: www.in.gov/legislative/iac/20150506-IR-312140477PRA.xml.pdfJack
