I don't buy into the "the wind is moving the target too" theory. If the bird is flying towards a fixed position, then the wind isn't moving them like it does the shot. I agree, the shot will be blown by the wind.
I did a considerable amount of clay bird "game" shooting in So. Ca. We could shoot in a drizzle and a fog, at night, under the lights. You could watch the shot cloud going to the clay bird. If you used copper plated shot, you could even see that on nights when conditions were good without fog or drizzle. It was a copper colored streak going towards the clay bird. Lots of lessons were to be learned if you were observant.
