I like this baiting idea! Is legal now....its called feeding.....Baiting is only illegal if you hunt over or around it! But in reality you can Feed/Bait year round now...

I am in the baiting idea camp, but on private property only. The First thing done in CWD depopulation areas is Outlaw the Baiting and feeding stations , why start it if the spread of CWD is proven at these places... EHD would zoom through the herd if congregated at these areas That's why they are not allowed Do we really need them with this Risk attached and proven???NO I see herds of 30+ deer all eating on the same patch surely they all use the same travel ways and water sources as well?

In other words, if planting something for the sole purpose of attracting and feeding wildlife is legal then so should placing something for the same purpose.

well sounds like our votes don't count then... That's what I also tell my Democrat neighbor down the road. Lol! I call my Democrat friend on election day and ask him if he voted or not and if he says yes then I say well guess I better go cancel your ticket out then

One you can hunt over, the other you can't.

I'm curious as to how the baiting proponents will feel when their neighbor is spreading out huge alfalfa bales and dump trucks of corn during season. Especially those who complain about low deer sightings now when they start seeing no deer at all. Lol!

I'll have the other hunter over trespassing trying to eat my bait

It's not pre-CWD that is concerning, but rather post-CWD. Once it is present, baiting is going to make it spread much faster than it normally would.

That's not apples and oranges. Thats an anti bait hunter justifying hunting over bait. The intent of the crop doesnt change that it's still being hunted as bait.

BAIT and CRP fields are two different things!!

After this year with the new HPR rule there will be NO deer to bait. So it won't make a difference one way or the other. Lol

After this year with the new HPR rule there will be NO deer to bait. So it won't make a difference one way or the other. Lol We will go to those AMISH guys and pick out a deer from behind the big tall fence. I can just see it now hunting trips of the future will be a couple guys packing there hunting stuff on a Thursday then driving to Indy on Friday checking into a motel getting a good steak for supper, taking in a few strip joints before getting up early (9:15am) on Saturday. Drive up to Amish land and pick up the deer meat already processed to your liking from the deer you picked out in their online catalog of deer they offered on their website. Eat a great breakfast and call it a season.
