I hunt 2 farms in Switzerland County. I really don't care much what happens on any other properties but my 2 and adjoining land. People can buy the magazines and drink the kool aid. Doesn't really matter or effect me. Why worry about things outside your control?? I can control what happens on my properties and work with adjoining landowners that's it. Have killed 8 bucks over 120" 8 out if 11 years and 20 plus does. This year 1 doe no buck. Interesting that I am seeing ton's of does and passed 6 different bucks 110-125 range. What's this article do for me??? Lol nothing.

I'm not sure that we've learned a thing here. Sometimes you just have to pick yourself up and carry on.

I wouldn't put too much stock in it. I'd say that most states (like Indiana) have a check-in system that only separates button bucks from antlered bucks and does not indicate age class. For the report to be accurate beyond doubt, every buck in every state would have to be examined and aged at check stations. I'm sure that the trend is moving towards harvesting older bucks, but I am hesitant to accept the findings of this report. They wouldn't have to age every buck, just a statistically significant number, from a statistically significant number of locations. There is also the issue of someone wanting to take Bullwinkle into a check station ans show it off, where they wouldn't go through the hassle with a spike. I would have to see the data and assumptions made for the study before I would believe it.

I skimmed through the report all the way to page 7, and found Indiana's data (along with a few other states) was marked as *. * = Data Not Provided/Available.
and that is as far as I made it.
