You say you don't need a closet full, but everyone one of us have probably thought this at one time.
This is more than likely 100% true lol
My wife will occasionally ask what's the purpose of a certain gun that I have, and I tell her that if I ever have a need for that one, you'll be glad that I have it.
Oh the joy a gun brings to a man. It's like a new pair of shoes for a woman, or hunting boots.
Lots of fun... Shoulder is a little sore today, got up this morning and put 20 shells through it, and almost a full box of 22lr since it wasnt raining or snowing...
I actually think I need all the ones I have and all the ones I don't have. This has been with me since a kid; it's just in my blood, and I don't remember a single family member hunting.
I had family that hunted... but none around here... Shoot lots of pop cans and fruit growing up, but never had the chance to go hunting... Always wanted to, but never had the chance... Not that long ago I decided it was time to stop wanting, and time to "DO" lol
I didn't hunt until after I had my heart attack. I was planning to start that year, but after the attack, I seemed to long to be outside.
Just seeing a deer while hunting is an amazing thrill. Just to watch them move from a stand and them not have a clue that I'm there is a thrill that I'll never get enough of. Then when that shot opens up, it's a rush. The mind is racing. I've yet to have my heart race after a shot, but maybe it's racing all it's capable of??? LOL
I cant wait personally...
Then there's the tracking; I enjoy this so much!
It was work for me this year. Nothing came easy, but the drive was still there to keep going back out until the end. I can't wait until next season.
However, like these guys have mentioned, they're season has already started. One can put as much work into it as they want, and it's all rewarding.
I have new plans after each season. I learn something every season. This year will be a lot of work for me, but man I'm looking forward to every drop of sweat. I don't work anymore, so I have the time, and actually think I'll have the money too.
Then we get to share it all with the guys here.
My first year was so exciting, and mostly because of these fellas. I was crying the blues, because I had seen deer everyday on my trailcam, but as soon as I stopped feeding them, they went somewhere else. Three weeks I sat and didn't see a single deer, and then it happened! That one event has ruined me for life. I will forever be looking to experience that moment again. It wasn't the size of the deer; it was the experience.
Heck, I dont think i have ever even ate deer... But that will be changing... Cant wait for squirrel and deer
Will be picking off those dang turkeys as the come on my land too lol... They like chansing the kids cat lol
Every hunt has a story, and we want to hear everyone one of them!
