Sorry drs. I wasn't directing that comment directly at you. I'm sure a few bruisers like that do get killed, but they are few and far between.
Only pointing out that many / most of those 250# deer stories are based on nothing more than somebody's wild guess.

No clue, but I'll let you know after this season. :-)
I did get three boxes of meat with the first one. Only one box on the second. As I was packing up my meat, the guy next to me asked how many deer did I have processed, just one. Had to give some of that one away.

Heaviest weighed was 240, hadn't been dressed yet. I have killed one that was significantly heavier, didn't have a scale yet though.
I do normally gut first thing, but if I think it's a particularly big-bodied deer and weather permits, I put it on the scale first for fun.

I've only shot 1 antlered buck, that was back in 1993 while I was living in Kentucky. Never weighed it but I'd say it was in the 200# field dressed class. The biggest doe I shot was probably in the 140# field dressed class not sure. I've never weighed any of my deer.

This is my heaviest deer. No clue what it weighed. We don't have a scale to check them. I had to drag it uphill about 10' to a spot I could get a quad to and it was all I could do to move it. Shot my 250 LB Buck and he also was at the bottom of a steep ravine, on my property. Had to go back up to the house to get my Brother to help me retrieve my Buck. Took us almost two hours to get him up to our home. Then on to the processor.

Last one I killed didn't look big, but by the time I got it to the truck it was about 750#!!! (Just a guestimate from a 66 year old guy.)

Dave, I've been wearing Predator since the first year that they came out with it. I love that Fall Brown, which unfortunately they don't make anymore. But I have half a closet full of it. Duff, Big old 2413 XX75s swaged at 29 1/4" tipped with Zwickey Eskimos with 5 inch Gateway feathers. Old school...as I was...

Biggest buck I have seen was shot by my uncle here in Illinois during the gun season. We had to use a truck and a few log chains to drag it out of the bottoms. 269lbs dressed

I've been wearing it for a while as well; and I too wish they hadn't discontinued Fall Brown.

My father Richard Denny shot one that dressed over 300, it was in the logasport, IN. newspaper. He killed two huge bucks that made the Hoosier Book, one in 72 and one in 76, cant remember which one was in the paper. Killed in Cass county.

My biggest was 205# field dressed, weighed on a good scale. I'd say the average mature IN buck weighs about 170# dressed. Suspect most of the alleged 250# deer people talk about all the time were never weighed. There is a lot of variation throughout the state. I weighed 4 different bucks from 4 counties last year...they were 215 (3 year old) 195 (2 year old), 285 (7 year old) & 280lbs (4 year old). I agree that most harvested bucks are under 250, but I think most mature (4 years old +) bucks will be 250 or more. Every mature deer I have killed in Indiana has been over 250...but I have yet to see a 250lb. 3 year old.
