Do you currently know which weekends that you'll be working in Jan? I think highcotton threw out a couple dates, 9-10 or 16-17, second or third weekend.

What choke for a 12 guage?

What choke for a 12 guage? That all depends on what dogs are being used, and how fast you shoot. I've seen guys shoot fast with a tight choke and cut both wings off of the bird. Other birds look like someone shot a feather pillow. I prefer to eat a bird, not hamburger. I'd use IM and light full choke but we were shooting for flushing dogs and the handler wanted 50+ yard retrieves. Pointers and closer shots, I see no problem with IC. It really all depends on how your gun patterns with the shells and choke that you are shooting. I was using a hand rolled load of #6 shot, moving along pretty quick. With a tighter choke, you can always wait a bit before shooting - no need to pound the bird as soon as it flushes.

I guess I will ask. Lead or steel? Steel and #6 shot is as big as we can shoot there.

Does not have to be steel. Lead is fine. Only restrictions are nothing larger than 6 shot and nothing bigger than 2-3/4" shells.
