For the most part I know how to get to Terre Haute from Route 41 . update : I just googled mapped Rosedale Ind. 47874 and it showed it's a 2.5 hour drive one way . If I leave my house around 4:30 A.M. maybe one gas and nature call I should get there around 7:30 A.M. depending on traffic as well as Weather conditions . Guys I'm pumped and it's only in a planning stage .

OK cool! I am more than happy to join along I probably wouldn't be a shooter (I don't have a shotgun) but don't mind carrying some birds around and just watching the dogs work and laughing at others missing but I would definetly love to go out ! I am available the weekend of the tenth and twenty-fourth

the WEEKEND DATES that I'm available are OCT 10 , 11 AND 24 , 25 ---- NOV 7 , 8 AND 21 , 22 THEN DEC 5 , 6 , 19 , 20 . These are my WEEKENDS OFF from work . SATURDAYS the hunts would have to be an afternoon hunt because I get off work at 7:30 am and it's a little over a 2 hour drive for me to get there . SUNDAYS are no problem to hunt in the Morning . UNLESS I can get a vacation day for a Friday so that I can leave early for a SATURDAY Morning hunt . UNLESS I hunt on the WEEKENDS that I work , which would be the opposite days that I mentioned because I'm off the Fridays when I do work weekends . I hope this makes since .

My old reconditioned 870 is a 28" set Modified. That ok or should I go with a more open choke?
I've been thinking about send the barrel off and gettin it threaded for RemChokes . I've got a half dozen of those....

I Personally use the I/C choke for almost everything , I hunt with a Winchester model 1200 16 Gauge pump , I didn't like the full choke barrel in the 16 Gauge so I found a poly choke barrel for the 16 . My sister uses my 20 Gauge Mossberg 500 with a Modified choke and does ok ,

Basically, I've guided most gunners using Cylinder to Skeet to Improved to Modified (ordered from open to tight). With a Modified choke, I usually recommend the shooter let the bird get out at least 20-25 yards.

If you guys want, I can set up the launcher for the day of the hunt and we can get a little practice in on some clays. That usually requires that we be at the preserve by 8 am on a morning hunt. We could throw some clays and then head to the fields around 8:45. That's typically how I do it. I'll also have various double guns just in case we need them from 28 ga. through 12 ga!
