I've watched videos of it and although it looks fun, it's not my style.
I can't imagine doing this in one of the state's that allow rifles during spring gobbler season.

Accident waiting to happen..I can't believe anyone is promoting this style of hunting that will get hunter's shot and killed. Turkey hunting is dangerous without this nonsense, hunters are shot each year with much safer methods than this...completely irresponsible for those promoting this technique..It's equal to attaching antlers to your head in deer firearms season and sneaking up on deer...ignorance.

I actually am very intrigued by the idea. I would not think of doing it on public land....I'm not suicidal...but I am going to try it on my own ground. There is a new company that makes an oversized fan big enough to hide behind. www.turkeyfan.com The demo videos are pretty impressive Trophy Paradise Habitat Consulting "Trophies are built from the ground up" www.facebook.com/trophyparadise

It is shocking at how many people get shot during hunting season. I just cannot imagine shooting anything that I wasn't positive what it was unless it was charging me, and then I wouldn't care what species of bigfoot it was.
I remember a couple years ago a 27 year old shot someone rustling through the brush; it was turkey season. I guess some common sense isn't confluent across the human race.
Hey, did anyone watch the phantom panther last night? ...walked on two legs.

A good friend of mine was shot while turkey hunting in Missouri some years back. He was working a bird just off an old fire trail on public ground.. As he was working it he heard something in behind him but thought it was another bird coming in silent mouthed. The gobbler appeared about 40 yards out and John moved a little reposition himself for a shot. BOOM! John got shot by someone who was slipping up the trail to ambush the gobbler . The shooter was a long time turkey Hunter and he said the thought that Johns gun barrel was a gobblers head. I'm not sure his thinking on that... John ended up with a coule dozen pellets as he caught the edge of the pattern..

It takes concentration to pick that shot. My simple mind just cannot imagine shooting someone. Background or ricochet injuries are terrible accidents, but I understand how they can happen. Thinking a person or any part of a person is my game bird is beyond my comprehension. So, was he mad at you for shooting him? LOL Just kidding.

Thanks Jon. I agree regarding humor and taking things lightly. I already called a patent attorney but when I explained to his secretary what I wanted he couldn't take my call. Must be real busy. I'll try again tomorrow.....

John,
What gets me is that ONLY bearded birds are legal. No way this guy saw a beard on a bird that wasn't there. In his minds eye he was looking to see that gobbling gobbler and when something moved he automatically assumed it was the gobbler..and shot .

Attorneys! What do they know? Oh wait, I was educated as one; KY class of 1982. Hmmm, better rest my case while I am still ahead, sorta, kinda, maybe not at all...... Thank goodness, I chose a different line of "work". Next comes my coyote costume. Yeah, that will work. I have small grandsons too. Back to the drawing board!

Jim Well congratulations on picking a more humane line of work. You're an old guy like me. I never did finish college, but I graduated high school in the year of the blizzard 1978. Are you retired yet? Do you still live in KY? Bigfoot costume, now that's a good way to get shot! No one in there right mind would go in the woods in a bigfoot costume. Killing a bigfoot would be big money, if they didn't get thrown in jail for it. I'm thinking there's some kind of new federal law about shooting bigfoot type creatures.

I have been in Central IN since 1995. Not exactly retired as I do go to the office 3 or 4 days a week for a couple of hours. (except for deer season and now turkey season). Not sure I can call that work. I am fortunate to have a young partner that keeps our business going. Yeah, being a lawyer didn't suit me at all. Way too much conflict. Probably should have thought about that first.
