Also not a fan of anything that makes a list with names of weapon owners available to the public. Thieves can and will use these kinds of lists to identify homes that are guaranteed to have weapons. You are also giving animal rights people an open invitation to come to your home and harass you. It is one of the reasons I made a suggestion to DNR about allowing ladder stands that are placed on state ground to be identified with an individual's license number instead of making them hang a tag on their with their name and address. Honestly, I am not a fan of most online record keeping for sensitive information, especially when it comes to the goverment. As we have seen in the news recently, now someone a continent away can hack into a database and walk away with everything in a matter of seconds. When you call your Deer in (Kentucky) they also ask for your Social Security Number as your I.D. I never gave much thought to them requiring a Hunter to list what weapon used to bag the Deer, and the County it was taken in. I believe they do this to get a handle on what equipment is most used to Harvest Deer here in Kentucky. As for listing the County, that has more to do with determining the population dynamics vs. amount of Deer Harvested. This way they can make any changes to next years Deer season if needed, based on this data.

I've hunted Kentucky many years..love everything about KY DNR These people do it the right way..If every State modeled their DNR after Kentucky's Fish and Wildlife Dept. they'd be better off for it. Common sense laws and reg, license ( sportsman's license etc.), telecheck...I'm glad Indiana went to tele check, all the years i hunted in Kentucky and used the system made things much easier for us when hunting....Kentucky plants food plots on public lands, offers maps showing habitat, food plot locations etc..Kentucky is a great State for the outdoorsmen....Missouri is another State that has a great DNR...Indiana is getting better, but has a long ways to go compared to these other States.

I live 3 miles from the Ohio River, so it is convenient for me to go to Kentucky. If I did not have a lifetime Indiana license, all of my hunting and fishing would be done in Kentucky. I've hunted public ground in Kentucky that would rival most private ground in Indiana as far as quality and quantity of game.

If i had it all to do over again..I'd live in Kentucky somewhere's around Trigg or Benton County area..Beautiful State...common sense people.

I think it came from IDNR facebook page. I posted on there that I had killed 3 bucks and didn't really tell the guys how. I was trying to let them figure it out. Ha you baited them and they took it lol

Ha you baited them and they took it lol Okay, this is a good thing. The fact other hunters saw someone that had harvested 3 bucks, found it suspicious so contacted the DNR is a GREAT THING! No clarity was given by the OP and the other hunters did a GOOD THING and the DNR did a good job as did the OP of handling it.

I did give clarity they just didn't want to accept it. Heck a few years ago I posted my sons first archery deer he got in September on here and we were called poachers. Someone said the only areas open were urban zones and they highly doubted I was in one of those because there aren't many of them. Guess what, we live in one.
