Checking in as a new member from Porter County, I have enjoyed chasing whitetails in Indiana for the last 40 years and turkeys since the 1st turkey season in Porter County. We have some excellent deer hunting in Indiana and I have been fortunate to hunt in several different sections of Indiana from the hill country of the Hoosier National Forest, Big Oaks, Ohio River Valley to the flat agricultural portions of the Northern part of the state. Indiana produces some excellent trophies from many different areas. My personal best trophies in the last 40 years have been mentoring my children, nieces and nephews how to enjoy the outdoors and become proficient hunters and sportsmen. Saturday is opening day of firearm season, best of luck to everyone, be safe, wear fall protection and introduce a young person to the sport this season if you have that possibility.
