Specifically, what are my options for a barrel for my Remington 870? I'd like to buy a rifled barrel and a scope. Are there many manufacturers of the barrel I want? Any brands to avoid? Scope wise, I'd also love suggestions. I would like to stay under $200 for the scope. I would be open to buying a used barrel but other than gun stores and gun broker.com, where can I find used barrels? Thanks in advance. Getting rained on in a stand with my bow as I post this. Brrrr

When I bought my 870 15 years ago, it came with a rifled barrel as a package. The barrel was one Mossberg made for it. The scope I put on was a Simmons Pro Diamond 4x32 that sells for about $65.
15 years and at least 20 deer later, that barrel is still going strong and, believe it or not, that scope is still holding its ORIGINAL zero! Ive not touched the adjustments once!
My point is, you don't have to go expensive to be effective.

Make sure if you are going to use a scope you get a barrel with the cantilever mount on it.

Welcome. I bought a rifled barrel, scope combo from cabelas. Have been very happy with it.

Nikon makes a nice shotgun scope that isn't too expensive

Make sure if you are going to use a scope you get a barrel with the cantilever mount on it. Ditto..'the only way to keep a good zero on an 870... |
