Early yet to be thinking doves but this year I want to get back into wingshooting. Deer hunting has taken the lead for so many years and I'm up for some fast action shooting at the speedy little devils and hope to do some waterfowl and other small game hunting this year. Deer hunting is great but I need to MOVE AROUND, albeit slowly with the bum knees. It's been so long I wasn't sure when season WAS but I found this link on Indiana maybe extending dove season?? Anyone heard anything about the upcoming migratory seasons yet? All I could find online was the 2013 seasons. posttrib.suntimes.com/sports/25434452-556/outdoors-indiana-could-extend-dove-season-to-90-days.htmlIf "OLD NEWS" my apologies but it didn't sound like it was carved in stone when this came out in early 2014. God Bless

I'm ready to get out there too. Mr. Zoli is sitting in the safe just waiting. I even scheduled my vacation day different this year since Sept. 1 is on Monday and that makes it Labor Day as well. So, I scheduled the 5th off so I could have a full 3 days to hunt dove and not just 1. A 3 day work week won't be a bad thing either.

It's never to early to think about Dove season . No one else is thinking about it either , that's when I start buying my Dove gear , the Mojo Dove decoys are still on the shelves at the store the camo T-shirts are on sale because the stores are getting ready for the fall clothe line up , I think the shot shells are cheaper at this time because they are not in a supply and demand mode yet . I buy my clip on Dove decoys in Oct. or Nov. when they are the cheapest .

Other than the mechanical decoys and their use, who is willing to share their "secrets" using stationary dove decoys?
I am making 2 dimensional DIY versions from some prints online to print out and slap on a couple layers of cardboard for something cheap, easy and light to try out.
It will be my first dove season seriously targeting them. In past years it was more of a "something to do day" involving shooting and just sitting near dead trees around water so I thought I'd give a few decoys a try.
There are videos on youtube on calling doves using your hands and voice but....still looking into calling at all and options to do so.
God Bless
