I mean no disrespect. But I think its somewhat irresponsible to be shooting waterfowl that you can't/didn't ID.
That's not really giving waterfowlers or hunters in general a very good name...

My bad,, cause I thought they were buffie's when we laid into them.. It was a 2 second decision when it happened,, and I just went with it... I'm not good with the diver thing,, and you are correct,, we should not have shot....

We shot some gadwalls once that we thought were mallard hens until the light came in better. Which is the worse sin, that we shot ducks that we didn't properly ID, or that we shot at hens?
Nice ducks, Pigeon... seems like you're always getting into some interesting birds up there.

I didn't expect divers to work the river system as much as it appears. Thats some interesting info for next years migration, especially when the lakes start to lock up.

Last week on the Mighty Wabash we killed two bluebills, one ruddy, a goldeneye, and three buffleheads. In 5 years on the river I had only killed one diver.Hmmmm.....weird!

I will most definetly 100% agree with the weird year thing.. I rarely see any of these birds in the river way up here... Just something in the air this year I guess.. Have not been seeing lots of them,, just been getting something different almost everytime out.. I might have to rob a bank just to cover my taxi bill this year..

I used to hunt Cedar Lake alot where every day that all you kill is divers. Ever since I have been hunting the Wabash and the Eel and I have never seen so many divers.
I dont mind it though, I like to kill diffarant birds every once and a while.
How much snow you got up there??
