Is a step behind the North Korean press. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) appeared on CBS Face the Nation on Sunday morning and was met with a barrage of questions from host Bob Schieffer about his involvement in the government shutdown. Apart from being the victim of Schieffer’s accusations that the Tea Party senator was to blame for the shutdown, it also appears that Mr. Cruz was the victim of editing by CBS. Based on video from Senator Cruz’s YouTube page and what aired on today’s Face the Nation broadcast, the senator’s comments surrounding President Obama’s “abuse of power” were edited from the program. Instead what aired was a segment that ignored many of the senator’s complaints directed at President Obama. [See the aired and unaired videos below.] Read more: newsbusters.org/blogs/jeffrey-meyer/2014/01/26/face-nation-edits-out-senator-cruz-condemning-obama-s-abuse-power#ixzz2rcC7vqUV

All of the network stations are liberal and I know this isn't the first time that Bob Schieffer has shown that he is very liberal also. I hate it when I see him on the news because I know he will not tell the whole truth. I remember seeing that he was awarded for journalism now long ago and that ticked me off too.

I don't watch any news on: ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, or CNBC, which are all liberal. I only watch Fox News Network for my daily news viewing.

I try to watch bits and pieces from them all. Being fed information from only one source does me little good.

Fox News Network...."Fair & Balanced".....Unlike other networks that have a strong Liberal "slant" given to their newscast.

uummm ... yea. If you dont think FOX has a strong conservative slant then there might be something wrong with you.
Most programs, no matter which network, are not "news" .... they are opinionated journalism.

That "slant" is only your imagination...it appears conservative due to the over-abundance of liberal propaganda spewing from the other stations. Then again, that's my "opinionated" perspective compared to others.
Every network is full of garbage, one's opinion of their coverage just depends on what side of the aisle you're standing...

Not really. You can stand on the same side of the isle and recognize things for what they are. Not many do .... but it can be done.
The faithful viewers of MSNBC and only MSNBC claim the same thing about conservative "propaganda" that comes from FOX.

I am a middle of the road independent and from my view I can see Fox normally leans pretty far right and all the other major networks lean pretty far left. That's obvious from where I stand.
My right wing friends think Fox is balanced and all the others are communists. My left wing friends think Fox is the KKK and all the others are balanced. Funny!

I agree that both sides have their credibility issues.
I selected NBC evening news as being the least slanted of the three majors long ago, but haven't really compared them to verify that status in many years now. That distinction is still like being chosen the Most Beautiful Warthog.
I pointed out to the wife last night another of the little ways they slant the news, that most people will never notice. Brian Williams reported on the senator who is charged with cocaine use, starting with the words "The Republican Senator from...". The next news item to come up was the report on the former mayor of New Orleans' trial for corruption starting. Nowhere in the news item was it mentioned that Mayor Nagin was indeed a Democrat.
Maybe NBC news couldn't find that information.
I Googled seven different news items on the trial and his party affiliation wasn't mentioned in any of hem, either. Had to look up the Wikipedia site for "New Orleans mayors" to verify what I was pretty sure of. Of course most of the stories on the matter were from major news sources.
It's insidious, and it's real, and it's slick enough to influence you without you feeling like you've just been influenced.
At least over on Fox, the slant is open enough to be obvious, and is therefore more honest, IMO..

Fox News dominates the ratings because there us only one right-leaning network, therefore they have no competition for Conservative viewers. The liberal viewership is split among over half a dozen left-leaning network options.

The only thing the Dem's did slightly better is get their base out to vote. It was something like 38-39% of registered Democrats came out while ~37% of Republicans came out, and that's just those that are registered. Overall it looks like Americans aren't very enthused about any of them. (neither am I)

Liberal Democrats must be doing something right too......they put Obama in the Whitehouse twice. Certainly they did "something" those liberal Democrats extended: welfare, food stamps, etc. Those voters, along with illegal aliens, who want something for nothing, are the one who voted Obama back in power. Not tho mention other voters that simply don't care about what's becoming of our once great nation and didn't bother to vote.

Conservatives put FOX on top of the ratings and liberals put Obama in the WH.
That was my point.

Dave - go back and look at govt expansion and intrusion under the Bush administration. Then you go back and see what Obama has done, concerning Government expansion & intrusion into our lives. Bush was a far better President.

Conservatives put FOX on top of the ratings and liberals put Obama in the WH. That was my point. My Sister, Susan, who has a friend that worked at a polling place, in Northern Indiana, the first time Obama ran back in 2008. She told my Sister, that while she was working at the polling place, there was a bus load of the filthiest smelly people ever that got out to vote for Obama. The local Democratic party arranged this bus load of deadbeat people, so they would vote of Obama. My Sisters friend said the smell was so bad she had to leave. That's who got Obama elected the first time & this time around.
