I for one hope Phil and the rest of the family tell A&E to stick it where the sun don't shine! He was asked a question, and stated his opinion. What's happened to freedom of speech? I'm so sick of the PC crap in this country, I could puke! The family don't need the money for sure, and I'm sure there are other networks that would love to pick them up. Phil may be tired of the whole scenario, and may just want to going back to doing what he loves. Two thumbs up for Phil!

Duck dynasty is one of the few shows I can watch with my daughter. Family values, hunting and love of outdoors. The 8pm time slot to watch shows with children is horrible. Cussing, drug and sex in just about all the shows anymore. Just move on to another network Phil, we will find ya.

Phil had said better than a year ago he was wanting to do less and less time on the show. This wont bother him all that much, but the show will not be the same without the patriarch of the family. I'm quite sure that the cast/family have made enough money to live very comfortably the rest of their lives.
What gets me the group of so called tolerance is the most intolerant when it comes to free speech IF it does not agree with what they believe.. One does not give up their first amendment right just because they are in a TV show. He has a right to believe what he believes and when asked a direct question on it he did not dodge the question.
This is not about whether homosexuality is a sin or not, it is about trying to silence a person's belief.

He is my favorite person on the show and I agree that he probably isn't saddened that he is 'suspended'. Overall, the show has jumped the shark to me. I still watch it, but I think they hit their peak and the show will slowly drop in its popularity. I could be wrong, but when I saw Duck Dynasty dog biscuits at Orscheln last summer I suspected the end of the Dynasty wasn't far off.

I totally agree with you Woody however IMO Phil should have thought about the other members of the Dynasty world from the immediate cast to all the folks down the line that are making a living off of this show. Shame on Phil's agent for not pre-reviewing the shows questions before Phil went on. The Dynasty crew has made a lot of money from this show but they could continue to make a lot more for their children's children. As for me I have never watched more than about 10 min of any given episode,it's just my type of television.

I was going to write something, but after reading the first 4 or 5 responses, which I totally agree with, I have nothing more to add. They asked HIM a question, and HE told them what HE thinks. Shouldn't affect anybody else, NOT that it should affect him either, but you know the stupid society today. Good luck to Phil and family.

Shows like this have a 3-4 yr. life expectancy. DD will make it one more yr., unless the whole family balks.
Do some research on Duck Commander. Phil and his family were already millionaires before the show started. They will take their 15 mins. of fame, and laugh all the way to the bank. Actually their 15 mins. of fame is more like an hr. and a half!.
A+E needs them a whole lot more than the Robertson's need them!

This aint got a damn thing to do with free speech.
Phil had the freedom to say whatever he wanted. A&E had the freedom to retain/terminate his employment as they wanted.
That said .... I think A&E will regret the move. I also think Phil could not care less and I do not expect to see one of those half hearted apologies "celebrities" often give.

I support Phil on this one. Tell A&E To go jump off the bridge. A&E execs have made a huge mistake that I hope they regret. If I were Phil I'd take the family and tell A&E to stick it. Yea I was thinking the same thing. This was not that long ago that he was talking about them cutting out part of the family prayers at dinner time. A&E will regret this huge mistake. The only problem is that the viewers like you and me will be the one's that get hurt with this move. And that makes me sad. Why is it that the best shows on TV can't stay around for a long time?

It just occurred to me .... A&E might have pulled an absolutely brilliant move on this one.
If viewership slips because of this they can jump up on their soapbox and preach to their advertisers how they got out ahead of this one and more money will come in.
If viewership increases because of this they still win .... increased viewership means more advertising dollars no matter how you slice it.
This was a pure business strategy on the part of A&E ....

Loss of viewers is a negative and advertisers are not going to give money for less viewers.

The kind of advertisers who would pull or threaten to pull their advertisements if Phil was left on the show would.
Its all about the money.
