I'm looking to hire someone to install an antenna at my house so I can dump the basic cable I get. So far I can only find one place that does it here in town and it is 500-600. I was thinking more like 300. Does anyone know if the cost I was quoted is typical?

If you get HD reception and have the TV, they are very small and easy to install

You might want to install an antenna tower, as you'll receive better reception. Also you'll want to ground it so lighting won't "fry" your TV.

Don't know about install, but I have about a 20' tower here in Bedford I don't use, if you wanted to drive up and take it down you could have it. It is set in concrete, so it would probably have to be cut off at ground level.
There is an antenna on it, but it is pretty beat up and would need replaced. The power turn works though.
