From the Indianapolis star: Police investigate reports of a man beating a deer with a hammer along I-70 By Bill McCleery A white-tailed deer apparently was beaten in the head with a hammer along I-70 this morning drawing sympathy from motorists. Police received multiple calls just before noon from people reporting the same odd scenario: A man wearing camouflage clothing was beating a deer with a hammer — repeatedly pounding its head — as it lay along the eastbound lanes of the interstate near Ronald Reagan Parkway. Police from multiple departments responded. One dispatcher speculated the deer had been hit by a vehicle. “My guess is someone wants the meat, but it’s not dead yet,” said a dispatcher with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Otherwise, he said, repeated blows to the head did not seem like a humane way to euthanize a wounded animal. One radio transmission indicated the disturbance had been caused by someone attempting to remove antlers from a dead buck. Dispatchers with IMPD, Indiana State Police and Indianapolis International Airport said their officers never located a deer or a man wearing camouflage clothing along the interstate. :

I killed one once with a baseball bat. Got caught with out a carry weapon due to coach Little League ball and my temper. So, the deer was in distress and needed to be killed. A bat works but its not a pretty sight or an easy kill.

Obviously he used these means to take the deer because 1) it would have been illegal to shoot it while it was in the right-of-way and 2) it pre-shooting hours. Everyone knows there are no laws regarding when you can and can't bledgeon a deer to death. Also, I'm sure our camo clad stalker was merely trying to protect all of the unwitting motorists that wear talking on their phone, texting, putting on makeup, playing with their GPS, etc... while cruising by at 75 mph. The po-po didn't find the deer because our camo clad stalker undoubtedly loaded the deer in the back of his pick-up because leaving on the side of the road to rot would've been against the wanton waste laws.
