My opinion is,, the better the decoy looks,, the fewer you have to use!! So buy as good as you can,, it save more dough in the end. Although I have never been a fan of using lots of decoys to begin with. Less is better!!

Decoys are decoys at one time or another they will leak, paint will chip or they will get shot up. Buy whatever makes you feel confident and if you can justify spending a lot of money for something you will be using only a couple times a year and storing the rest of the time then go for it. I am not a professional guide but for me I would avoid flocked decoys because they require special handling.

I wonder what the professionals are using these days?? Flocked heads do require more care for sure. But they sure do look sweet. I store all my ducks in individual slot decoy bags. It works well and they are holding up nice. I do need to rework my entire spread sometime this week. New weights and lines are probably in order for the flock. I have been using PVC line and ACE weights. Little extra time in wrappin and baggin,, but as I said I use less decoys than most,, so I think it saves in the end? Only flocked heads I have are on my goose floaters,, Bigfoot floaters from 6 years ago still look as good as the day I bought them. Except fer a few pellet holes. The G n H ducks have lost a few of the eyes,, but other than that they were holding up nice also.

I have GHG pro series, but I don't think the ducks will care how much I paid for them.

Don't know squat bout avianx decoys. Hunted over top of line and most people's rejects. Been skunked using both and limits as well. If it looks good to you and fits your style & budget then go for it. Realism is subjective, look at cork or burlapped foam. Tough to get a great realistic paint job on them compared to plastics. They will kill birds just as good. You will never have to buy new ones unless you get bored with them, lose them or they get stolen.

I've had all kinds of decoys over the years and it really doesn't matter which brand you get these days. I looked at the Cabelas catalog the other day and every company makes a mallard decoy that looks the same.
The only thing I do now that most people don't is make all my decoys up to be texas rigged. Unless you're hunting extremely deep water or heavy current, it makes picking decoys up really easy and quick.

Yo Mr Hopper are you trying to alter reality again? A guy kill a big deer about a decade ago and now he tries to use a deer decoy to duck hunt!!! I resemble that remark........... Atleast we know that one will float!!! You gonna come up for opening day?
