Singleshooter has done it again!
He has bought a Handi-Rifle in .44 Mag as a donation to the Youth Hunt!
One very lucky youth hunter will be hunting with it this weekend and from here on out.
This will be a random drawing at the hunt.

I'm going to get glass on it one way or another. I have a Vortex Crossfire I may donate or I may pick something up. If I have time I'll sight it in, if not I'll be sure to bring enough ammo for it and maybe it could be sighted in there. Waiting on my FFL to send his license, should go out Monday to me so it's going to be tight!

He told me it had a scope then said it didn't. Maybe he bought it less scope? Now I'm confused?

Get it scoped if you can I'll pay for all or some of it. Wev might need to have it sent next day which will cost some extra $$$.

I'll put a Vortex I have on my 9422 on it if it comes without; I have been wanting a 20mm scope on that rifle anyways

Sorry for the scope confusion Dave...the scope on it was a serious junker Tasco that was nasty inside the tube as well as out. The glass was yellowed and foggy for some reason. No idea what someone would get on it to cause that. Wouldn't do anyone any good on a hunt so I had him drop the price on the rifle and include shipping instead of the scope.
I tried like crazy to find a scope at the gun show to put on the rifle but there was nothing. Gun shows over here in St. Louis are NOTHING like the 1500. I miss that show.
Hope it gets straightened out in time for the hunt. Would like to see one of the kids get a deer with it first time out just like last year.
And no need to thank me for this. I have always believed in the children being the future so support them in any way you can and pay it forward every chance you get.
Y'all have a great weekend!!! But mostly...just enjoy the time afield. After missing 2 seasons thus far and it looking like I will miss my third this year I hope you all do well and can't wait to see the photos of your weekend hunt.

Did the rifle go out yesterday? Good choice on the glass, the old Tasco scopes were actually not too bad, the new ones are a waste of money that could be put towards a better scope. I'll get the Vortex mounted and I'll sight it in even if I have to do it on Friday and get there a little later. I want to see it take one this weekend as well. Maybe next year we should do something a little sooner!  I'm thinking for next year I might pick up another ML barrel for the Encores - seems like every season my Encore goes with whoever I'm hunting with and I end up with the Buckhorn I picked up for a loaner! (not that it has been a problem, worked just fine everytime) We might switch roles, I'll donate it and you find the glass. |
