1.We need T-shirt sizes of all the youths that will be hunting. Smaller youngsters will probably have to wear an adult small. Seems it's hard to find orange in kids sizes but will try.
2. Need to know any "needs", such as a ground blind instead of a ladder stand. We have a few double stands, but most set-ups will be a ladder stand with a hang on for the adult or youth. We require both youth and mentor to wear a full body restraint system, which we have if you don't.
3. Need to know if you need a mentor for any reason. We'll get you one if you can't hunt with your youngster. We want the kids in the woods as much as possible to give them the best chance, so if there's a time period when you can't do that, we'll find somebody to sit with them.
4. Again this year, SAFETY is number one. I'd prefer that adults NOT carry sidearms during the hunt, if you feel that you have to, make sure that you are the only one that knows it. IOW – Be discreet.
Also, along that line, no loaded firearms in camp for any reason without Tom’s or Woody's permission. If you need to sight in or test a firearm, we will find a place away from camp to do so.
5. That said, anyone that wants to shoot doves can do so anytime Friday or even during the midday Sat. or Sunday. I'd still prefer that the youth be in the stand for the afternoon hunt, so Friday is the best option if you want to bird hunt any.
6. Normally, we prepare stands and sit-up mentor stands the weekend before the hunt. We usually could use some help doing so. If you want to scout, that will be your best time. Otherwise, we will draw for picks. You'll be able to select any stand that is available. Repeat participants often select ahead of time based on their prior experiences. We will honor those request and draw for remaining spots. We have more stands than we do hunters.
