Last night was a very good meeting! Ames and I were so pumped after the meeting all we did was talk about Delta and blastin' ducks on the ride home. I think Mig will be an excellent leader, because of his profession he should be very non-confrontational which could allow for a great success of the chapter. I know of other organizations that have had certain bull headed types of leaders, and the membership numbers were down. Once a new leader was in place the membership numbers increased dramatically! I think we have some good guys in the leadership positions that can really make this chapter great. I also love the the enthusiasm that Scott from Delta had. That is awesome! That will also help our chapter. I think Mig has really thought this out and I dont think that he would have made the decision and jumped on the idea without some real thought put into it. He is right 100%, he will need our help! He can't be the Central Indiana Delta chapter all on his own. Everyone in that room lastnight is very passionate about waterfowl hunting and want to see waterfowl numbers increase not just for us blastin' them now(or for Travis, "shooting AT them"), but for our kids' blastin' pleasure!
Thats my $.02..........
Lets make it happen boy's!!!!

Good post Brent! Nice talking to you over in the marine section post-meeting!
Scott is the perfect guy to get this ball rolling....... and if we get a bum member, he can easily have them hauled away for months at a time. ;D

I'm pumped! The Central Indiana Delta Waterfowl Chapter is now in business.
Thanks for all of those who attended, and for the kind words. I think we are going somewhere here, and like I said before, I can't do it on my own......any help will be appreciated.
We had 17 guys attend to represent Central Indiana. Hancock (8) Hamilton (5) Madison (1) Shelby (1) Boone (1) Randolph (1)
That means we are spread out through the central/east central part of the state, and that is a good thing. We need this chapter to grow, so you guys need to get on your fellow waterfowlers in your area, so they can get on board. The more members we have, the more that the work can be spread around among us.......and the more publicity we can get out there!
For those who could not attend.......you missed a great presentation from Scott Berg, Regional Director for Delta. It was very informative, and you can tell he is passionate about his job. If you guys are interested, contact me or any of the other guys that were at the meeting. Within a 2-3 months, we'll have another meeting.........we'd like to see you there!
more later.....

Travis - it was nice to meet you in person as well. Its nice to put a name to face.
I was talking to my father-in-law today about the meeting and he is really excited about it. He's from Dearborn Co., and I'm sure he would come to our events!
I took several of the pamphlets about Delta, and I plan to pass them all out to my buddies.
Let me know if you need any help Mig!
Keep the ball rollin'!!!

I too am excited about the future of our new Delta Waterfowl chapter. Given our geographic location and our unlimited resources, the only thing that will keep this chapter from suceeding is us!
