Well got William out this Saturday morning (5/4) and we had a group of jakes come in behind us, got us twisted around and he got a shot on the biggest one in the group and dropped him at 35 yards, stonewalled him LOL Unfortunately that morning we heard 3 groups of turkeys get busted off the roost by someone on the Amish property in front of us, where the turkeys come from normally. Then after William shot his bird I saw someone trying to hide behind a tree over on Corp of engineer property , it was one of the brothers that own some property over there. They do not like me hunting where I hunt, even though I have full permission from both landowners. They feel they are their turkeys and deer, even though they do not hunt turkey. I talked with him, was cordial , however I am going downtown to talk with the Allen county property manager and get this problem resolved for good. Those two amish brothers have bothered me and busted more turkeys and deer away from me then I can remember. Anyway, I had a camera malfunction with my start button, it starts then shuts off right away ? Did not get the shot on video but going to make a funny "re-enactment" before I make the video. Proud of William, he is my turkey thug LOL here is some pics, sorry for being long winded, had to rant LOL

Thanks, sorry to vent, this guy has been doing this to me for over 5 years... I want to take the landowner ( an Amish) and visit his church one day and call him out in front of his congregation but I will just let it lay. I was cordial.

Everyone I know who has lived around Amish has less than glowing things to say about them. Oh well, at least your boy scored, despite it all. Congrats to both of you.

Congrats to William! Sounds like it was a hard hunt. Sorry to hear about the troubles from the boys next door. Maybe them seeing your boy kill a bird despite their efforts will detour them from the behavior. And like Schall53 said, vent anytime!

I was cordial, did ask why he was over there, also explained I have never trespassed on their property, which he was not on ( he was on Corp of Engineer property) and told him I've been a good neighbor hunter and he agreed. Told him there is no reason we should not be able to get along. But I'm sure he'll be back at it this fall bow season but I trust the Lord, if its his will I will be successful and he'll put it on his heart to change.

congrats on your bird, I had the same trouble with the amish in deer season clearly trespassing, frustrating, apparently thier set of values doesn't apply to game laws

No one getting hurt, talked with the county surveyor today, he verified its county property like I thought Going Monday to talk with the County property manager and get this resolved. Sad I have to do this but these brother have pushed everyone to their limits with their hoarding of deer and turkey, the attitude they are theirs and no one elses and that they can trespass and retrieve game but no one else can on their property. I will resolve it peacefully and legally
