Group hug! It was a blast.....no pun intended! A special thanks goes out to Woody, without this kick arse place to put our feet up and make fun of each other, a lot of the good times wouldn't have ever happened.
From the first hunt of early goose, right on through till the final shots of the season it was fun! Great hunts, great photos, great memories......some of which, like the shirtless pics have blazed scars into my brain that even Dr. Phil couldn't help me overcome....but other than that it was amazing! We lived in the moment and made some great memories...that's why I love waterfowl hunting so much!!!

Well, since the rest of you couldn't make it out for the last day Kyle and myself finished it off without you. The birds came a flying late this morning and I do believe the four that did us a fly by after we got the decoys picked up last evening were the four early birds off the lake today. We had some breaks in the clouds which put the sun in our faces and that's when they came to the spread. Kyle and I flagged and called and had them on the string, flaps down on all four and just gliding to the calls. With the sun in our faces I slid way down into the blind and closed the doors completely. Looking through the mesh screening of the blind so not to have my face glare. The birds would swing to both the right and left but always coming back to center of the spread where we had our blinds. When it looked like the time was right and before they got too close and would pass over our blinds as we sat up to shoot, I called the shot. Now heres where things went wrong. I believe it's not due to my age and slight declining eye sight but from looking through the mesh screening which distorted the sight distance. I called the shot too early and by the time we got up to shoot the wind took them just out of range. Yep, I felt like a rookie goose hunter and apologized to Kyle for messing up his only chance at putting a super finish on the final hunt of the year. But hopefully those four birds will make it till next season and bring their young back with them to our fields next year. Duff...I wouldn't have felt bad at all if you were the one hunting with me today and I messed up. ;D 911 and Mullis...maybe just maybe if your good boys until next year you can come out to play again. If not we'll just look for two new decoy haulers. 911, you and Tom may want to look into a fitness program before next season. ;D And Mullis don't worry if you ever get to hunt again you'll also get your chance to play pack mule. I had some good laughs guys and surely enjoyed everyone of our hunts. I didn't kill many birds as other years but it was my best for the band collection. Now I'll get busy with the gear, blinds and decoys that got damaged and dirty through the season. Anyone want to volunteer for this party? It will be at my place Sunday, February 4, 6:30 p.m. Of course we'll be working in the garage at times but mostly outside. I'll have a radio available if anyone wants to listen to some music or one of those sporting events. Oh and Travis just remember there is always next year so if I were you I'd delete the pictures if you know what I mean. And yes I too want to give Woddy a big thanks because without this site I wouldn't have meet these knucklehead waterfowlers and had the good time I've had this year. That is except for Duff, he always manages to find out somehow or another and comes around whenever he hears I have a field full of birds. ;D Don't be a stranger till next season bud. Dang I'm ready to start this all over again.

Guys,
That is what I intended this site to be.
A great gathering spot for Indiana hunters to get together and exchange stories, knowledge and get to know one another.
The fact that you guys did get together for hunts is icing on the cake.
I don't waterfowl hunt, but I'll say I never missed a post by any of you. The post/threads was informational and downright fun to read. Of course the pictures brought it all home.
I'm glad that I was a small part of getting you guys together.
May it end up in long term friendships.

That mesh really messes you up. ;D It was great hunting with all of you and I want to thank art for a great weekend. Donnie you are a lucky F@#%*@. Sorry about the doghouse. John maybe you need to find some new hunting buddies ;D Aaron I recommend the over under( don't have to worry about plug ) Travis love the pics and stories with each hunt. Mig thanks for my first black duck that was cool. Duff you need to work on your ballerina dance for next year. Tom your need to get your wife into waterfowling ;D just kidding. Art maybe we need to practice distance before we go out next year. That might not hurt us.If I forgot anybody I'm sorry. It was a great season.

I'm wondering what it would take to get Woody to come up for a hunt next year....... Oh the fun we would have with the Godfather in the goose fields with us. I'm thinking a pic of shirtless Woody would have the paparazzi on us like a pic of Paris Hilton without her bloomers! Think about it Woody.......we'll need your decision in 7 months.

Thank you for a great day. No shots were fired, but a good time was had by all. (especially when I got home)
Its going to take until next year to get Stallion crate trained. He's just going to have to quit peeing on stuff.
