From the same 'smith that built my long range rifle. ;D From the gunsmith..... How about recoil, well, with a clean muzzle, the 338 AX would be BRUTAL. Realize that this HANDGUN will drive the 300 gr SMK to 2650 fps with top end loads. When you realize that the Hodgdon load data for the 338 Lapua lists a top velocity of 2677 fps with the same bullet........ Yes, thats a Nightforce NXS in the four NF tactical scope rings. And yes, you can shoot this monster with nearly full field of view without getting your forhead tapped by the scope. I tend to shoot with a very relaxed hold on these handcannons so I always shoot with a 3/4 full view through the scope but I have shot with 100% full field of view with a solid hold and never had any fear of the scope getting friendly with me. The big 5 port Painkiller muzzle brake takes care of all your recoil fears. In fact, recovery from recoil is good enough that I could spot my own shots at the test range at 1052 yards. So what kind of accuracy do these big handcannons produce. Well. It shot a few three shot groups at 1052 yards that were under 3/4 moa and one group was easily 1/2 moa.

WOW!!! I bet its muzzle blast is super loud too!! I can imagine the recoil to be brutal on the hand. Reminds me of the time I shot a 600 Nitro Express Rifle!! Nice looking handgun though.

Its pretty cool. It illustrates the absurdity of our hunting tool laws though. That is legal, while a .30-30 isn't. duh!!

That's not a pistol, it's a rifle with slightly stunted growth.

Tell you what, pops. You buy the pistol, the components AND the dies, and I'll load it up for you.... Go look at .338 component bullets and get back to me on a time frame....

Here's what I'd like to be able to use, but I wouldn't want to use it on anything under 500 Yds. 175g 7mm Sierra Matchking leaves the muzzle at 3490 fps and it groups slightly under 3/4" at 300 Yds if I do my part. It'll hold between 1/4 and 1/2 moa out to 1,000 yds. I haven't shot it at targets past that, although rocks aren't safe at longer distances. That gun weight 12# as you see it.

60,916 psi max for the 338; which is less than the 338WinMag (65Kpsi) - wasn't expecting that.

Dave...I can sense you drooling from here. step back from the monitor and wipe your chin.
When I got you to try shooting my Bullberry .243 Encore and my wife's 7-30 Waters Contender back at the first Hunting Indiana picnic/gathering I had no idea how bad you got the "Specialty Pistol Bug"
PLEASE....don't ever let me meet your wife. I have a feeling it would not go well for me.
