Yeah snakeeye, I wouldn't even consider asking the Corps to alter their objectives! HH, There are more (ponds) on Salamonie and Huntington then @ Mississinewa where IMHO they cater more to deer hunters & campers. Though they have done a hell'va a job for turkeys!

OSB, that could very well be as i don't hunt the Mississinewa. I live between the Salamonie and Huntington and go there for hunting. I actually live about 5 miles from the Salamonie. Turkeys are plentiful at all three of these reservoirs now. h.h.

The only place we saw ducks was around the Army corps dam. No hunting allowed. maybe we'll try it again this year. I saw the same thing last season, tons of birds right at the dam. I put a call in to the Prop. Mgr at Miss. and he told me to call the Corps, which I did. Believe it or not, they said that you CAN hunt the dam as long as you are set up ON the dam. Boats cannot come closer than the markers in the water. I never tried to hunt there since I don't have a dog to retrieve any downed ducks, but if you could get concealed I'd say you could kill some ducks right there at the dam. I was shocked that they said it was ok to be on the dam in the post-9/11 era.
