I was researching things for a speech for my speech class and came across this, and wanted to know if any of you would support the state doing the same thing. Seams it would rid farmers of deer while allowing hunting recruitment to grow. www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153-10363_10913_58762---,00.html

Sounds great until the landowner that allows only you to hunt takes on the financial incentives. Then you're sharing your spot with whoever else wants to hunt there. To me it seems like there is plenty of public ground already. Plus it's pretty easy for a reputable and responsible hunter to obtain private ground.
Court House > Plot Map > Google > Knock on Doors > Sometimes no, sometimes Yes > When you get a yes, Stick of summer sausage after you get a deer > Christmas Cards > Leaving it how you found it > and an Invite to hunt it again next year.

that is a bad can of worms to open, what happens if one year the landowner allows, then decides he didnt' like how his land was treated, the next doesn't allow it but everyone that hunted the previous year comes back ?
No, I'd not be in favor of that

I'd be in favor of it. Indiana needs more properly managed wildlife areas and public hunting areas. The entire state should implement a QDM process.

The program is completely volunteer basis only, so if you don't want to be part of it you don't have too. As far as QDM, look at KY's deer, much larger than IN's deer and most of it is due to education. Many of the WMA's in KY have a QDM and it's nothing to go see numerous bucks in a sitting.
If I buy a bunch of ground it won't be in this state. I'm looking at farms in KY now.
