Michael Waddell and his Bone Collectors have been hunting Indiana and have a whole bunch (8) of BIG buck kills on film, that will be shown at a later date !
Waddell says Indiana is the best kept secret in the midwest, and describes the rut the last week as "insane"
You can go to his blog and read it all but he has BIG words for the Hoosier State and I guess he thinks we are the best thing since sliced bread !`

He's been saying that for 2 or 3 years. He killed his biggest buck ever up there a couple years ago. He loves Indiana. Even brings his dad here.

Collins Brothers have a big piece of land up there and it's managed to high standards.

I'm for the OBR mostly; but who attributed Waddell's big buck harvest to the OBR?
Almost any state could be a trophy state if they're managed with that kind of money and resources...

Waddell ! www.michaelwaddell.com/mw-blogIndiana Deer Hunting Posted on November 07, 2012 For the last few years, the Bone Collector crew has been fortunate enough to visit many of the top deer hunting states in the country. Kansas, Iowa, and Illinois have all been very good to us. But I’ll tell you what: Indiana is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to hunt. I may be bias in my assessment because it is the place I tagged my biggest buck – a 176-inch Freak Nasty (pictured above) – and whacked a few other monster bucks, but there’s no denying Indiana has all the ingredients of a “big buck state” without the recognition. Maybe that is the way it’s residents like it though. I am not blowing the whistle on this under-the-radar state because I think it should be the next state every hunter with the desire to shoot a record-book buck flocks to. Instead, I am giving credit to the work done by hunters of Indiana and the Game and Fish Department. As I say that, I also understand the fairly recent adoption of the one-buck rule was welcomed by some hunters as warm as a skunk at a barbeque. Some thought the state was forcing their brand of QDM on hunters, while others thought it would make Indiana a legit destination for trophy hunters, like the other Midwest states. Whatever side of the fence you are on, it’s hard to dispute the evidence that the herd is in great shape. From my observations, there are a ton of deer, there is a ton of trophy potential and there are a ton of happy hunters. Indiana must be doing something right. It ranks sixth in the U.S. for record-book whitetail harvests and I think it is only a matter of time before the record Boone & Crockett typical score of 195 5/8-inches falls. Maybe it will be you…or me? Either way it’s exciting for the state, and I look forward to my future visits to Indiana and sharing the footage of this week’s hunt with you on a future episode of Bone Collector. It will be an action-packed episode.

Yeah; insanely quiet. Timex is saying this years rut is a trickle rut - looks that way to me. I have seen very spotty chasing so far. You mean he's not hunting the kind of places average Joe hunter does?!

More publicity is a thing we have been seeing a lot of here in Kentucky also.
Stan Potts hunts here in KY a lot, and Harold Knight and David Hale live here in Kentucky and hunt a lot.
Michael Waddell shot a nice Bull Elk here in Kentucky this Season.
As you mentioned he hunts in Indiana also and has taken several nice Bucks. He seems like a very nice guy, and he does a good job at getting youth interested in hunting and the outdoors.

Sure,,,, We've had the OBR for 10 years now and both typical (1985) and non-typical (1977) OLD time records still stand..

My buddy has a farm right across the road from one of Collins places where those guys hunt. It is real deer heaven and the numbers are outstanding.
It's not so much that the state of IN is so great, but more about how well this landowner manages his property to produce big bucks. Probably not a lot different from what the Kisky's and Lakowski's do in Iowa, or what Drury's do in Missouri and IA.

Well I would have to say, If I had an endless amount of Money, I think I could Kill Bucks as he does? There is no doubt. and I am sure a lot of Guys on here. Leases maybe the Wave of the Future, As I may have to Check them out, But I would Have to pair up with someone, Maybe 3 guys, But I would want a 140" or Bigger taken, No Dinks, and Take are share of Does. Leases are becoming the only way to Hunt, Unless you own Property already. I have a Small 65 acer woods That I fear this every year. Finding 2 or 3 guys would be the Hard part because it would be more than Just show up and Hunt alot of Managent Stuff.

his indiana hunts as others have said consist of hunting on the collins property, scent shield/scent blocker bla bla bla owners land.
I cant figure out why he constantly pimps indiana its not like the Collins/scent shield scent blocker thing goes hand in hand. I would be less surprised if he called it the scent shield farms or something to give them some advertising.
