Agree once this front is allowed tp blow through it should be "wide open". Planning on hunting Thurs-Fri. maybe all day sit's. Not gonna waste my time in this wind.

I hunted Parke County this weekend, saw some fresh scrapes, 1 young buck cruising with his nose to the ground and 17 different does milling around. It appeared to me that the senior doe's are in the process of running off their young, the majority of the doe's I saw were young ones and acting a little skittish, as if they had been separated from the mother and confused by what was going on. These next two weeks should be prime time!

My last Hunt was on the 26th, and it was a Cooler morning and right at first light I had a Large group of Turkey's fly downm and never presented me a shot 2 real nice Toms in the Bunch. And maybe 20 minutes into daylight I had a Decent Buck come in, he looked to be a 8 pointer and maybe a 140" Buck but stayed out about 60 yards and was noise to the ground and went right to a Primary scrape in the woods I hunt, I watched him as long as I could through my Binocks, he was like a Begal dog, Then about on his heels came a Small 6 pointer but he gave me a shot at 25yards, With it starting to get Good I passed. No does at all during my sit. I have plans to sitall lday on Thursday. I know its probably to early for Estrus scents But Iam going out on a Limb and laying down a Drag rag going into my stand Thursday, Its a Gamble But Got to think it could pull a Big Boy in as they are crusing now, and with an all day sit it cant hurt. Now if you want to Kill a big Buck or see some Bigger Bucks is the time to be in the woods, Just have to get Sandy out of way, 30 mph Gust here today?

I watched a nice 10 tonite in the middle of a bean field 1 hour before sunset shadowing his girlfriend. No amount of grunting or rattling was going to deter him from her!

Just came home and there are 15+ does, mostly bedded down, in the field across the street and only 1 spike looking around…? Just started my 9 days off work and was really hoping to see a little more action than that.
I did see a 2.5yo about a mile away that I had pictures of in my yard all summer. I was wondering where he went.

Hunted Indiana tonight for the first time. Pretty uneventful afternoon mainly because of the wind. About 6 or so the wind finally died down and about 645pm I heard a deer walking. When it came into view off the ridge behind me I about fell out of my stand. Was a legit 140+ and I had to watch him make a huge scrape and thrash a tree so bad he ripped it out of the ground. I grunted at him a couple of times and that just seemed to make him madder. Well in the process of watching him I had a small buck grunting ever step as he chased a doe to with in 25 yards of me. By this time it was getting just about to dark to shoot. Wound up seeing 3 bucks and the hot doe. The big boy had one of the deepest grunts I have ever heard. I'd be back in the morning but I've got a DR. appointment. Thankfully I only have to work 2 days this month. I'd say its on like donkey kong.

Have had a spike and a 2.5yo 8pt come through cruising at 915 and 945. The 8pt demolished a tree for about 10min before coming in.

Last weekend had a buck grunting to the east of me before daylight and then around 8 I had two small bucks come through. The smaller one in the lead and was grunting as it went through the larger buck didn't grunt at all and was right behind the small buck. Small bucks head was to the ground but if it was following a doe it must have came through early because I had been in that stand for hour and a half and no deer went where they went. I'll be in the tree in the morning.... Good luck everyone... BB

I have been seeing small bucks chasing does all week but no shooters until this morning. About 11:30 i had a nice shooter push his girl right behind me about 60 yards down the hill. Had a buck chasing last night he wouldnt come out from behind the only tree around me that still had its leaves. I didnt get to see him very well but his Mrs. stepped out about 30 yards from me. He was gruntin the whole time he even snort wheezed a couple times.

Did and All day sit Wed, and at first I thought someone stole my stand, for the life of me I could not find it,(OLD AGE), but ended up finding it!!! I rattled in a Small 120" Buck, I have a Video on my Iphone but not sure how to put it up? I have seen several small scraps, but the sit was long and boring Saw 1 doe about 11am walking around solo. Thats it, So The Pre-Rut is very slow, But may be going strong in your area, I am getting sick, so I am taking a few days off, Wed will be another all day sit? Its just a Matter of Time, though, I noticed on that Buck that his Hocks were some what of a Stain?

I had the same problem last night Woody. Initially thought the big Buck I seen was a couple of fox squirrels chasing.
