All set! Got my spot picked out. After the youth season, my buddy and I scouted the lakes we hunt by giving the boy with us a high speed tour. We then checked out a couple of our usual spots. lots of birds!

I'll be putting the bow down for a couple mornings this weekend to duck hunt. Would not miss it for anything. I'll be out there for sure. Hopefully the weather will be as cold as they are predicting.

Anyone need any field goose decoys for the weekend? I'd be more than happy to bring them, along with my shotgun of course.

Usually not the best spot, but we typically have a decent hunt. After all, tradation is tradation.....LOL!!! I'm taking the new sculler, hopefully some geese will land out in the middle........then its GAME ON!!!!

Dang guys, it didnt get light till 7:26 up here this morning. Left the house at 4:40.
Boated up the river and 2 of us started setting the dekes while 1 started on breakfast. Bacon, eggs, biscuits/gravy. And then came the light. Hit the first bird that came in and then the neighbor decided he wanted to hit an air horn each time we had birds decoying. Called the 800-TIPIDNR and had a CO calling me back within 10 mins. Gave him directions to our location and he was the within 20 mins. He stayed for another 30 mins trying to get them red handed with no luck. Then after he left had another nighbor come down in pontoon boat and throw anchor in front of us and &^%$* away. Bummer start, but we ended with 4 mallards. Pics are in my buds camera, hopin he sends them tonight.

That stinks Pigeon! Glad to hear the quick response from the ICO....too bad they didn't catch the culprit with the airhorn.

I went out but wish I hadn't. It's not that we didn't see birds it was the other hunters. Of course, it's public land but on a large lake, is it necessary to set up 30 yards from someone who has already set up? Then, of course, they take the attitude that if I can't have them, no one else will and instead of letting birds work, they're shooting at these birds when they're 80, 90 yards out. We had 5 in our group and all of us could have limited out easily if the birds would have been allowed to work. Nope, I'm getting to the point where I'm soon gonna give up duck hunting because of the hunters, not the birds. Some hunters ruin it for the rest. Sorry for the rant, but I wasted a great day because of the rudeness of other hunters.
