Secured a great waterfowl spot today. I have been after this spot for a long time and it is almost guaranteed to produce. Now I really cant wait for the opener again. Talked to the land owner for a while and i have strict rules to go by, and can only hunt with 3 of some of us total. ;D

Excellent work John! I know you have been working to close that deal for quite a while...nice to know that hard work and a great relationship with the landowner landed the spot rather than just a fly-by-night attempt to swipe a place for a quick limit of ducks and geese.
Good to know also that nobody else is hunting that spot, so it's not like you've cut in on someone else's honey hole or tried to swipe a spot out from under someone..... Should be nice knowing that nobody else will be blasting away at the ducks/geese that you've been watching land for the past month on a nightly basis!
Nice job!

Sounds like a great place to take someone new to waterfowling! ;D Kidding John.... Congrats...acquiring new property is always exciting, but especially when you form a relationship and eventual friendship with land owner. Hope to hear some great stories and pictures from the new "honey hole".

Its a good feeling isn't it!!
I just put the final touches on a private 100+ acre lake. My crew and I will have sole waterfowling rights to it. I was down there tues and there were 300-400 ducks and twice that many geese on it. Its never been hunted, until now. Saw a mess of coots also, you know what that means, fair chance it will see some divers later in the year!!! YEAH BABY!!!

Coots......... Mmmmm, yummy! LOL
That's awesome Josh! (not asking where YOUR honey hole is) but is it in Central Indiana??? Just curious about seeing all the coots... I rarely see them around here. Congrats! Your rig will take up half that 100 acre lake!!! LOL.
Saw a cool duck mount the other day......it had the duck locked up dropping down over a decoy that the fella had carved himself....pretty cool idea. I thought of the Kimber Decoy Company when I saw it..... I'll try to find the picture.

Here's that mount Josh..... A canvasback dropping in on his cork friend! I would have made the real bird a little higher above the decoy, but that's just me.... LOL Pretty cool idea though.

Ive got my banded goose skinned out, I'm going to flesh it this afternoon if my daughter will let me.....lol. Hopefully I'll have it done here in the next few weeks. Once I figure out this waterfowl taxidermy I'm gonna learn how to make the fake water that seems to be the rage lately with fish and waterfowl mounts.

If you guys ever get tired of your private ground and don't want to hunt there anymore, I've got two morons who will ruin it all for you! You can keep them.
