I watched a doe and two fawns munch on some corn I dumped out last Saturday morning. I have a fair numbers of does and three or four fawns that are regulars on my trail cam.

Good news from both of you.The Doe numbers in this area seem to be down a bit.I am also noticing that quite a few Does don't have Fawns with them this year, especially the 1 1/2 year olds(last seasons Fawns). The Buck numbers do look fairly decent though.

In several patches around the airport in indy that I drive by 3 to 4 times a week and a patch that I can hunt in the urban zone I have noticed some does with no fawns and then I have seen several does with twins and several nice bucks !!!

My guess for the lack of fawn sightings, is most likely due to the HOT & DROUGHT conditions, many fawns have perished. So expect a low number of Deer next season. A word of advice, is to not harvest too many or no Doe this season.

Sounds logical to me.We haven't took any Does out of our hunting areas for the past 3 seasons. There are plenty of other people killing them. The Doe population and over all population has been trending lower for a while now in my small piece of the world.Wish the DNR could be more area specific(zones)instead of a county wide bonus number.Don't see it getting any better until they do.

The doe that had twins last year only had a single this year.......but it's possible dogs or yotes got the other fawn also. The yearling just had her fawn about a week or so ago. Have been seeing many does while we drive, including a nice doe with twins just yesterday. Miami County, Fulton counties.

Good to hear you are seeing good numbers of Doe.We have some problems I am sure with Coyote and dog in this area also but I think the liberal bonus county tags, lots of small property owners and lots of hunting pressure is why we are experiencing lower overall deer numbers. The state wants to lower the numbers and it is working.I am ok with that but think it is time they do some fine tuning in specific areas of this county.Big population difference in the northern section of this county as compared to the southern. The yearling had a late fawn, hope it does o.k..
