I like Free-Loader's swan picture....so I swiped it, cropped it, and saturated it a little, I don't know if it's any better or not, but here it is again. That is one big bird!!! We saw alot of them in Canada, but weren't allowed to shoot any. I'd of love to heard that big thing thud on the ground!! ;D

Josh, I like the first one of Cooper looking out the boat, so I swiped it, straightened it out for the horizon, saturated it, and brought the exposure down some, hope you like....Good picture.

For more involved photo editing, like adding borders, and major corrections, etc., I use Photoshop CS3. For quick fixes, etc. I like to use Picasa 2. It has really good auto corrects, and easy to use manual corrections also. The main thing when shooting photos is to get the exposure correct, you can have it alittle underexposed (not too much though), but overexposed is always a tough fix, so watch your exposure!! ;D Josh the pic of Cooper that I worked on was a little overexposed, the 2nd one of him is way too overexposed and not hardly salvagable. The 2nd biggie in a picture of course is composition of the photo, and this can be tweaked in the post editing by cropping the photo, a little rule of thumb for landscapes, 2/3 land 1/3 sky, unless you are focusing on the sky, and then 1/3 land and 2/3 sky. Another biggie is the horizon, getting it level and not tilted, this can be fixed also in post editing, but best to try and get it for the most part with the camera. Here is the pic of the sunset edited, I cropped it to get rid of alot of the land in the foreground that really didnt add anything to the picture, plus it had a dust spot in it also, I saturated the color some also and that is about it, it really was a nice picture to begin with. I thought about sharpening it some, but with the high ISO and the low light, it would have just brought out alot more noise in the picture...

Hey Matt, what all has been added in CS3? I am still using CS2, haven't looked much into CS3.

I've been trying to jack with the settings on my junk camera some when taking pictures. Sometimes when trying to be quick about things I don't have time to mess with the settings...
I need to look through my file I messed with the exposure settings a lot on that first one...I may have one or to that are close to right to begin with....

Here's the same photo with the land taken completely out and a custom size crop, more of a panaromic shot, I like it best with the land taken out....

CS3 has more manual adjustments than CS2 for the exposure (3 adjustments) not just the one slider like CS2, otherwise alot the same a few more little perks but not much. Another good one is Adobe's Photoshop Lightroom.
