We got .4" of rain last night up here in NW IN, where I live. Already have corn fields on light ground that are shot. Not enough rain, yet to stave off a disaster on the corn crop. Soybeans are faring a little better.

We attempted camping this weekend. We reserved both last night and tonight. We left yesterday and were down there by about 2. Got everything set up and turned the portable ac unit on. It was just too hot for that ac unit to cool down the camper at all. Last night wasn't horrible, but we weren't sticking around to suffer through another day outside with temps in the 100s. There were quite a few spots that were reserved for people to show up yesterday and they were still empty when we left. I just look at it as a donation to the state.

its july what do you expect. its going to be hot and dry in the summer. 90s and the occasional 100s are not uncommon this time of year. even august can produce 100 degree heat. get use to it.

I work outside all day in this heat and i will admit it is misserable. To put it in perspective though I heard a comment on the radio the other day. Caller called in and made the comment about all the people complaining about the heat. Then stated to think about all the troops over seas that are dealing with this heat while wearing full gear and carrying 50 lbs. packs. Makes it not so hot in our neck of the woods .

Won't be long people will be complaining about cold and wet. How many farmers last year prayed for it to dry up?

That does kind of make a person think, eh? Nobody shooting at us either..
