Overall pretty good. When it was good it was REAL GOOD, when it slowed down it really grinded down, averaged out that way. If the December weather would have stuck around into Jan. We would have had a dynamite season!!!!

Fair to midland as far as birds ( my fault ...very little scouting time ) but I voted dynamite because of the company and the 2nd year dog work ...........
I didn't put in as many days as usual and there were several days I didn't even carry a gun but went to work the dog with the shooters .......

dmduck - good call on the company, same here. I just plain didn't get to go as much as a man should. Obligations and responsibilities need not apply to duck season.

Enjoyed the season... first year of dog training. Got my youngest involved, hunt with some good people who also turn out to be decent hunters. Can't wait for the 9 months of preseason to be over with! Sure hope Goose pond pulls more birds through Indiana over the next few years.

Its been my experience that with new redeveloped or newly built marshes/waterfowl complexes that it takes a couple of years for the birds to really start using them. I think it takes a while for the flora/fauna communities to stack up. They will be there, if you build it, they will come.

Henderson is supposedly a great place for ducks. Too many private landowners?

Henderson is supposedly a great place for ducks. Too many private landowners? My answer is somewhat biased by the fact that we r not in the Hoovey/Sauerheber flyway. East of it actually. But those who hunt in the high priced pits along the refuge done quite well. Also, High Ground club killed i heard in the 4 digits? But u know how stories deviate from the actual truth. Bottom line it was just too warm & nice.

New here but rated the season as good. Based on passed seasons yes there could have been more overall, but after 40+ years of waterfowling there have been better and worse years. Found plenty of birds but they had to worked for , and worked with. This was a seasons for first for me, don't remember as many in a season before.

911 you get the pictures I sent you?
Olduck, how ya been? We never did make it out together this season. The bird klilling wasn't nothing to brag about but the guys did have some good times and lots of laughs. You may just like it here these guys don't pee as much as over at the other place.

Well 410 it's not my problem here, I'm just another waterfowler, and it's too bad we couldn't hook up. Let's try next year, we'll start tryin in dove season.
Duff as you get older the other stop is 1st to make room for the coffee and then again after the coffee, then again just before you put your waders on. Then again after wading out in the cold water to put decoys out. Now your ready for another cup of coffee and it starts all over again.
