Kyle E invited me to go duck hunting this afternoon so i took him up on it. I got all of my stamps and licenses and off we go. We through out a bunch of duck decoys and were ready to go. About an hour later we are talking and next thing you know DUCKS. Kyle called and they got close but not close enough. Next thing ya know here comes more right into the decoys. BOOM BOOM BOOM off fly the ducks. I totally missed my first chance ever. By the way i got that same feeling you get when deer come in. The next hour or so nothing. Another guy joins us and all **** breaks loose Geese start coming in and i am freaking out the first group circled around and came in from the east right over the water BOOM BOOM BOOM Down goes geese. I jump up and down hugging the other guys and shaking out of my boots. We got two of the five. No time for celebrating here comes more geese the other guy shoots and misses and i pick out a bird and Boom down he goes. My first hunt and i limit out. Needless to say i am hooked. Between the three of us we killed 5. I will be back out there tomorrow. I want to thank Klye for taking me it was incredible, here we are with our kill.

It's all down hill from here!!!!!
Way to go, beginers luck still hasn't run out for ol Indyhunter. Every time he has hunted with 410 and myself the whole party has limited out on geese!!! He even brought luck to 410 with a band on the last day of last years hunt.
You don't get the true effect until you have sat out in mud, rain, snow, ice, wind for 2 or 3 days without even clicking the safety off, or at least that is what I tell myself. Doesn't take too many good days to make those long days a distant memory.

Glad to see you got out and busted some birds. But don't listen to Duff those days of mud, rain, snow, ice, wind are the best days especially when you have to carry all the gear and decoys into and out of the field. My offer is still open if you want to join me. You need to send me your phone number.

I think that's his way of getting in the last word when they just fly by and pay no attention to his calling, flagging or decoy set up.

410- Glad to know I'm not the only one giving a "one finger salute" when my calling and spread go unnoticed. Some days I even have to give em both barrels if you know what I mean. ;D
911- Congrats, You are now hooked and destined for a life of cold, wet, and muddy. Welcome to the club!!!

Beginners luck or not, as long as I continue to bring that same luck to Duff and 410 everything will be fine. What worries me is the first time we hunt and do not bring home a limit. I think I may get kicked out of the group! They don't really like me that much, they just know that birds will fall if I come along.

Great job 911! I can't believe more people have not discovered waterfowl hunting, it's truly addictive. You'd better plan on working some over-time cause your gonna need the money for all those different gadgets. Waterfowl hunters are the kings of gadgets.

Duff, were in trouble Indy figured us out. He'll probably put the jinx on us now. Of course he's only good for goose limits he can't do anything with ducks. That is unless you like bird watching.... You know we never even got him to carry decoys for us. Maybe he has us figured out since he never wants to hunt until the fields are all frozen.

Maybe he has us figured out since he never wants to hunt until the fields are all frozen. Hey now, the duck thing is your fault. You always told me ducks were stupid, so I didnt prepare myself for ducks. Only geese. And as far as carrying your decoys. I VERY clearly remember carrying about 2-1/2 tons of decoys (about 25% of what you actually own) through 6 inches of mud that had snow on top, and we only had to walk 1/3 of a mile give or take a few hundred yards. And that was my first waterfowl hunt ever. So yes, I wised up a bit after that. If I use all of my energy carrying plastic through fields, how in the world will I have any energy left to steal Duff's gear? I tell ya what, the abuse I put up with from hunting with you guys. Maybe I better start putting the word out for a new group to make lucky Goose hunters out of.

Oh crap!!!! I underestimated him. Despite his looks he really is pretty sharp. I figgered we had at least a few more good hunts. We just got to watch him going threw my stuff. He hid my shells last outing.
Indy, I bet you get a duck yet this year, infact I can GAR-UN-TEE you a duck or two if you hunt with us the remainder of the year.

I don't think he hid your shells I believe that's what he was shooting. Remember he did say he had to stop and get some shells before meeting up with us. Indy, that first hunt was a walk in the park as they say. Next time we'll leave late and have you carry decoys while Duff and I set up. You know they have to be set just right for the birds to like them and come in close (hurry now and get all them decoys out here the birds will be flying soon) . Duff, you still have the albino skunk mallard? We'll hide it like an easter egg and when Indy shoots we'll tell him he shot his first duck and give it to him. We need to make a leg band and a neck collar for it. His first duck, I'll bet he'll be soooo proud he'll have it posted on all the hunting sites. Heck he may even have it mounted.
