So there is a ratio on the label for mixing Roundup and 2, 4-D together? Someplace on the glyphosate and/or the 2,4-D label there should be an area for compatible mixes. If not contact the maker and ask them-they also want to make sure that their product is used correctly. That being said, I've been mixing glyphosate and 2,4-D for many years by just using the recommended rate for each one in the same tank mix. Glyphosate does a very good job of taking care of grasses but the 2,4-D does an even better job on broadleaf plants. HINT:2,4-D especially really foams up if added to the tank first so I usually put about 90% of the water in first then add the chemicals. I'll also put a squirt of dish soap in when I add the chemicals. The soap acts as a surfactant and helps the coverage.

The best total kill Ive ever used is Round up or generic round up and 2,4-D mixed together. Round up is good for grasses and 2,4-d is good for any broad leaf plants. Round up has been used so much in the last 20-30 years there are 22 weeds that now are immune to round up. Most of them are where cotton grows. It seems some farmers are going back to using propane burners as they plant to burn weeds off. I saw this a couple weeks ago on Market to Market on PBS. h.h. What ratio do you mix it at? usually i mix at 1% - 1 1/2% for each one in the amount of spray Im mixing up. Throbak, I understand what you are saying but Ive experienced much better kills when mixing. Might be a waste but not in my opinion. h.h.
