my suggestion: I would plant beans and don't harvest them, just the harvest the deer....no experience on plots, just my .02 cents.....good luck......turkey scout

When it dries off going to disc it down and then go get a fertilizer cart from the co-op and have some pelletized line blended with some dry fertilizer I'll spread.

Ok here is the farm layout. Everything inside the red is mine. The blue lines represent streams and a creeks and the blue blob is the gravel pit. There is a road that runs though the southern part. The area inside the green is where the plot is going to be. The yellow line on the west and north of the wooded area is where I'm going to put a CRP buffer along the woods. The east or right side that is all green is hay fields and cattle pasture. My crop fields on the left are going back in corn this year. And up in the north east is goin to be beans. This is a zoomed out view but you get the idea.

Ok I've been doin a little working with my buddy. Got the little disc out and started smoothing it off. It's working up good. Might need to hit it again and cultimulch the heck out of it It looks better than this pic. I was just getting started. Ended up going over it at least 3 times maybe more. Then we had to light the candles. Then we had to get out and inspect our work.

Well I parked the 60' anhydrous tool bar for the little atv spreader. Got my lime and fertilizer spread. Now time to cultipack it and seed it. Gotta lay out my plots and then seed. Letting it fly! Here part of it is after the spread And my tillage radishes are turning green

Plot is all planted. The ground had sat idle for a little bit and got kinda hard and the seeder wasn't doin a very good job. So I found an old drag from behind the barn and hooked on chain on behind the ranger. Rented a brillion seeder from our John Deere dealer. I wasn't really impressed with it. I had some sweet corn planted la couple Sunday's ago and its spiking thru. I also put out some bags of mix I picked up at rural king. A teco-mate mix and a harvest mix and some frigid forage wildlife blend. I'm going to compare how they do. I sprayed some roundup on it today(just seeded last night). Didn't spray my sweet corn but I used my cheap sprayer from rural king. Now it's time for mother nature to do her business.

Here's an Update of the plot. It's looking good except my early sweetcorn didn't make it. Here are some updated pics of the plot. My rye grass from last fall. Here's the overall look back to the barns. And here's a little track I saw while walking thru the plot

Man, you got all the toys to do it right...I have to get it done with a front tine tiller, lawn mower, and fire...unless my neighbor lets me borrow his 5 foot tiller.
Looks good!
