OLD DUCK HUNTER: Yes I get a senior discount now that I turned 55. Yes, I’ve got a I phone, know how to text and have a face book account. I also co hosted a radio show had many articles wrote about me. ( The articles were on many dog training and duck hunting) So if I offend anyone I’m sorry. I cannot believe anyone would tell other duck hunter about where they hunt and how many birds are in the area. I’ve hunted with many !!! duck/goose hunters over the years. Seen then come and go. Usually it only take about 5 years and then there DONE. I have to laugh at some of the things that I read or they take pics of. They all line up the ducks and geese and post them everywhere. What a joke! Yes I’ve got many pics I could post but I don’t for fear someone would know where I’m hunting. IF you are a hard core duck hunter you’re not telling anyone! All I hear is there are no birds around. YES, it is after the first weekend of duck hunting. Where are your pic’s NOW!! I’VE got my Pic’s The birds are HERE YOU JUST GOT TO FINE THEM. If you are relying on another duck hunter GOOD LUCK! P.S. I’ve duck hunted over 120 to 125 days a year, for over 25 years. I know hunt about 80 days a year. And no I do not have a CLUB ,LEASE, etc. or hunt with people who do. I am a dying bread I am a FREELANCER.

If you go back and look at some of the pics that have been posted I'm sure that in most cases those people that have posted them have taken great pains to make sure the background/location is unidentifiable. Have some friends of mine that have posted pics before that even with my local knowledge of the area I had to ask them where they were! I'm sure that there are some that will give out the places they hunt, either by word or pic, but for the most part they learn fairly quickly not to keep doing it (and have been told that on here too!)
So, yes, pics are worth a thousand words and the people on here do enjoy taking part in your enjoyment!

Like i said, i'm a Hard Core Duck Hunter! It's not about the pic's (kill) It' about the memories of Duck Hunting. and what good are memories if you have no one to share them with or tell them to? I guess coming from a different culture where not telling another hunter about birds or taking pics or telling stories didn't make you "a Hard Core Duck Hunter" it made you something totally different, has my opinion on this topic rather jaded. To me, sharing info, sharing public spots to hunt, taking new folks to private ground is the best part. I had the distinct pleasure of hosting two of my friends on their first duck hunts last week. I am far from a pro, been years since I have been duck hunting myself, but they both got birds and are both hooked and if it is only for 5 years so be it, it was my pleasure to take them, teach them what small bit I know and to take pics of the smile on their faces, and yes the coot in the mouth of one of them. That to me is what hunting is about, not how many days you get to hunt, or kills you make, but introducing someone new to the sport. just my $0.02.

Not all of us are rookies posting kill pics looking for the next pro-staff sales spot.... Welcome to hunting indiana now quit bragging about how old you are and stuff and post up general info so we all don't flock to your honey holes.
Besides, duck hunting is for old men and sissies. The real Hard Core Hunters I know are all goose hunters!

You're kind of losing me Old Duck Hunter. In the instances below you post: Like i said, i'm a Hard Core Duck Hunter! It's not about the pic's (kill) It' about the memories of Duck Hunting. So if I offend anyone I’m sorry. I cannot believe anyone would tell other duck hunter about where they hunt and how many birds are in the area. Yes I’ve got many pics I could post but I don’t for fear someone would know where I’m hunting. IF you are a hard core duck hunter you’re not telling anyone! Yet, in these post below you do exactly what you ridicule others for doing. What gives? Very dry here in Southern In. Anyone see any ducks! Found about 100 Woodies this morning. We shot 6 none of the Woodies came back. We drove around but could not find where they went. How did you do today. Ive hunted there many times in that area. I am not from there I'm from Southern In. Evv. There is usually several of use that go up and camp at Tip.Stat Park. But is was not able to go this year. Just wanted to now how it was up there sense they reworked the property. Yea: Well next door (Vand.) Had to do scouts Sat. went duck hunting this morning. Snake Point very dry. we found a little spot south of OA.city there were about 100 woodies. We shot 6 it was my dog first duck hunt. The last bird she made about a 35 yard+ retrieved. And on top of that......you post pictures (I didn't post it, because I didn't want to violate the rules), but its a picture of you, and a buddy, with some wood ducks and your dog. I don't get it. Your asking people if they're see ducks, giving locations about seeing ducks in some posts, and then knocking people for taking pictures and talking about birds they are seeing/shooting in other posts. Serious? Here is my pup, with her first retrieves. The last one was 35 yds.+ Not bad for a pup.

Old Duck Hunter there is a web site that is your type of site and that would be the REFUGE. www.duckhunter.net/Those of us that use this board could care less about your age, your ability to use eletronic devices and your opinions on how we should enjoy the sport of duck hunting. I have never seen any comments on this site that suggested that someone stole another persons HONEY HOLE based on a photo or a general description of where he or she may have hunted. Some of us use this board because we got a little tired of your type of thinking that was going on on other boards. Enjoy the sport and welcome aboard.

That to me is what hunting is about, not how many days you get to hunt, or kills you make, but introducing someone new to the sport. just my $0.02. -Amen to that! Hunting is about sharing the outdoors with friends and family, and it's about putting food on the table. Seems to me that ALOT hunters create this self-righteous competition of knowledge. They get on a high horse and put themselves on the top of some monument they've created in their own head. They're the most knowledgeable! Heck they know so much they're almost a duck, or a deer, or a turkey. I wont play in that competition. Me, this year between deer and ducks I've put in around 70 hunts. I've got a good 40 or 50 left in me. I've been chasing ducks and geese around the country for 7 years now (I guess I made it past the 5 year mark). I've had many limiting days, and I've had many duds. Most importantly I'll be the first to admit I'm not the best. I'm not even close, nor do I desire to be. I have no desire to join a pro staff, and I have no desire to brag. I'll post pictures of all parts of the hunt. The hiding, the hiking, and the hero. If you figure out my spot, well lets send you a trophy for your amazing detective work. Go cherry pick it, and then I'll find another spot just as good. No biggie. Shows what kind of person you are to do cherry pick others. Good luck, I've got my reputation with the land owner, and I'm not worried about you getting in there. Did we forget why people started hunting? Do people forget not everyone is in your knowledge competition? I put food on the table. Meat that is 100% chemical and hormone free. Meat that I did the dirty work for. The killing is the worst part, but death has to happen for my family and I to eat. Not all of us are adrenaline junkies that "Needs to get out there and kill something." Some guys may be 70 years old, and have killed a million ducks. I'm glad they have. They do know more than me, and good for them. Boy if you could only take knowledge to the grave. I guarantee I wont let that change the way I do what I do. I also wont let them drag me down with their self-righteous "I'm better than you" rants. As a human, and a fellow hunter I'd be happy to help anyone find what they're after. I had to be taught. Want to know where I hunt, just ask. I'll tell you, heck I may even invite you to come along. Put your foolish pride aside and look deep into nature. You'll understand everything better. Pass it on!

I want to tell you something...
One of the very finest gentleman I have ever met was an avid duck and goose hunter, although he much prefererred geese. Art Spancake would tell you where he hunted and even take you there even if he did not know you from Adam. MANY times he extended that invitation to people on this and other boards to come and hunt with him. He was a giver back to the sport of not only waterfowl hunting, but all aspects of the outdoors.
Art has passed away but his generousity will never be forgotten by many on here. His great attitude towards other hunters is what we should all strive for.

Art and I got burnt by posting a pic on here one time. I will never again do it, and he said the same thing to me. From then on we were hush hush on our hunting spots and were careful who we took out. People these days well take your spots in a hurry

Can you tell me where this honey hole is? I promise you won't ever find it! ;D Been there a hundred times! There's no ducks there! ;D James You must have been there during early season Problem is that it was a dark boat ride and I'm not familiar with the river and I wasn't driving so I'm not really sure where it is either! Ha, I just couldn't help but take the picture.
