Here you go with 200yd zero using 180gr SSP's (in inches) 50: .2 100: +2.5 150: +2.2 200: 0 250: -4.4 300: -11.4 350: -21.4 I'd cut it off at 300. Might push it a little farther if you have a B&C type reticle scope. 400yds it drops about 3 feet. For you energy people you have 1160ft-lbs at 300.

My plan is to go with 200 grain round nose bullets. I'll probably zero for 150 yds. My shots are generally not over 100 yds. It will be fun to reload and shoot over the summer.

It will handle the 308 so I don't see why not.

On an H&R, I would guess that a .357 barrel could be rechambered for the round, but You'd need to have a SB-2 frame for sure. Current .357 & .44 rifles come from the factory on SB-1 frames, even though the barrel may be marked SB-2.

Guess it is time for another .357 barrel. Lonny

Anyone know what would be required to modify a .358 Win. barrel for a Savage 110 to accommodate this caliber?

Anyone know what would be required to modify a .358 Win. barrel for a Savage 110 to accommodate this caliber? barrel will have to be cut at the chamber end and rechambered for this round. I'm not familiar with shank length of the savage so it will take some measuring to see if its dooable. Steve

If someone has the patent or owns the rights to it, probably can not find a reamer to rent. But I dont know. I thought this was going to be an economical one i could afford. Guess I will just go back to the trimmed .35 Rem.

All this does make you wish they'd just let the 35 Remington in and be done with it - nothing to be gained by not doing it. (and the 30-30, 45-70 & 444 for that matter)

It begins to get crazy when you name allowable cartridges. If 30/30 is ok, then the guy with the 7/30 Waters wants to use that. Allow the 45/70, and the guy with the 45/90 wants to use that. Allow the 38/55 and the guy with the 375 Win wants to use that. Etc......
I have heard of a previous proposal that based allowable cartridges based on their date of origin. Don't know how well that would work. The 30/06 came on pretty early.
I'm half in favor of allowing all rifles, but not allowing optics on guns for cartridges not currently legal. This would allow lots of traditional moderate powered cartridges in open sighted guns. Guys that want higher velocities could still go to wildcat WSSMs.
I still think that after a few years Indiana will allow all rifles, assuming no icrease in accidents solely attributable to rifles.
