Decided to try to set a trap and catch who stole my camera. Figures i would take one of my other cameras and hide it about 15 foot up in a tree facing where I placed a "bait" camera. You know they always come back to the crime scene. Wondering if anyone has any broken or old out of date cameras they would donate or sell cheap. Dont matter the shape just something to use as bait. I suppose i should ask in the ask a co forum if baiting is legal in this instance. Any help would be appreciated.

span, I have 2 Wildview cameras that I have $35 into. You can have both of them for that and $10 shipping. When I bought them I was told that one worked and the other didn't, but with a quick test (about 1 1/2 years ago) they both appeared to work. I have no idea whether they still do or not. They are digital and take up to a 2 GB SD card. I bought them, tested and they have sat on the shelf in a box since then.

I set up a situation like this a couple years ago because of stands being stolen. It works well. You might be suprised at who you will catch. I put two trail cams On limbs close to stand facing down towars the ground. Caught them red handed. Good luck!!

I filed the police report with sherrifs office yesterday. Must say Im surprised on how serious the officer I talked about took it. Figured it would just be write the report and that was it. Asked me if I was willing to prosecute. UHHHH yeah. I guess alot of people don't. Anyway he told me they tell people to do this all the time in cases of theft. As soon as I get it set up Ill keep you guys posted on the outcome.

But the good news is I haven't lost a tree stand in the last 3-4 years... (knocking on wood as I speak!!!)
