I say "no" I dont think that there should be regulations against the size of the antlers on a deer that I harvest. I dont hunt "antlers" I hunt deer !! I hunt for the meat, for the experience, and for the enjoyment of being out there, there are enough limits and regulations already that prevent some of us from hunting the way we would like, when we would like, and take the deer we want. We have enough regulations as it is without adding more about "antlers" !! But thats my opinion lol.

Already got them. 3" makes it a buck. Anything else is totally a dumb idea.
There are way too many yearling bucks in Indiana sporting 4 X 4 racks. We would kill off a lot of "potential bucks".

No. This crap of continuing to put more rules and regulations and screw with stuff that is already working (we have a 50/50 kill ratio and a obr) is just another way to appease trophy hunters.
If this state wanted to really make a difference in deer hunting in Indiana, they should have just made the gun tag either sex and allowed xbows during regular archery season for use by all.
That would have provided the incentive and tools to manage the herd without additional cost to the hunter.
Instead we've had a couple of years of nastiness and division between hunters that may never heal and in the end that will bite us all on the keister.

Perhaps the portion of public lands with antler restriction should be proportional to the number of hunters that have the desire for antler restriction. That would be a very fair thing to do IMO.
If 10% of the hunters want it, let's make 10% of our public lands antler restricted.

How about each hunter can volunteer for antler restrictions. When they buy their tag it can be for any legal buck or only for a set level of antler restriction of their choosing. That way it is a voluntary program and those hunters that volunteer can have heavy fines imposed on them if they shoot something below their standards.
I say we should have three different buck tags available.
1. Any buck
2. 4 points or better on one side
3. 15 inch inside spread minimum
If you kill a deer that doesn't meet the minimums it is a $500 fine. You can buy any of the three you want.

Is all of the public land in Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, etc. that has antler restrictions, off limits to anyone?

Most of them are available by draw only as a means of lowering the pressure to a manageable level, so the number is actually higher than 90% of the total.

Whether or not a particular unit is draw or not, is a totally different thing. Talk about a straw-man argument.
