Wow, unbelievable! This law is going to be abused by every Barney Fife, power hungry cop in Indiana! Just ridiculous what our country is coming to.
We got pulled over by CO's on the lake last year and my 5 year old was scared to death we were going to jail. Couldn't imagine the emotional impact it would have on a young kid to have Police officers barge in their house, screaming and yelling, out of the blue!
I hate to say it, but the more of these laws they pass, the greater the chance of the citizens fighting back and standing up for their rights. This could escalate and get very ugly! I mean, what is the breaking point?

This will filter through our courts system in time ... I just hope no home owner gets killed defending his home in the mean time.

Everyone is crying foul and focusing on the negatives of this. So I will go the other direction. This law, be it unconstitutional or not, does have 1 positive that I can think of. And I think this may be why they are trying to turn it into a reality. If it were passed, it wouldn't give the drug dealers time to move their operation before the police could get back with a warrant to enter the home. That is the only good thing I could think of about this law. Don't get me wrong, I am on the same page as all of you. We are seeing our rights washed away 1 by 1 in this "free" country! If you can call it that anymore! I would rather see drug dealers go free than be a subject of a random house search. No amount of safety my government can provide me is worth losing basic freedoms over.

Many of us believe the War on Drugs was lost long ago and the further diminishing of our constitutional rights as collateral damage in that lost war only adds to the insanity of perpetuating it.
I watched the news last night as they showed the busting of another drug traficking operation that was bringing in TONS of marijuana from Mexico through an Indian resrvation in southern AZ.......TONS!
It seems I read somewhere also that illegally grown marijuana is the actual leading cash crop in five states.
And I'm pretty sure that even here in a rural county dominated by good God-fearing Republicans, if you know the right number to call, you could order twenty dollars worth of pot and twenty dollars worth of pizza, and the pot would get to your door first.
Reality, should we ever choose to accept it, would include admitting that another war on a substance or object, like the ones in the past, has proven to be a mistake. And that the most effective and sanest action we could take against the abuses of the drug trade, including the highly successful aggressive marketing of it to our youth, would be to legalize it and remove the bulk of the profit incentive.

Rumor has it that the ISP are monitoring this debate on IndyStar.com and are considering going after some of the more vocal posts with a charge of intimidation. This could get ugly.

Read my local Sunday paper, this morning. On the opinion page, the paper was all over the ruling, and the readers were 90%+ AGAINST the court ruling. I hope this BS gets shot down very quickly, before somebody gets killed over this crap!

This is very clear in my mind and I consider the court ruling an abomination to the 4th amendment.
