You may want to contact the local law enforcement.

Ok, call me a skeptic, that tree is in the middle of a flood zone, when debries hit the base of the trees it bumps rubs scrapes and pulls the bark off of the tree. Now as far as the rest of this story goes I'd have to see pics and the place with my own two eyes, that said Hovey lake property has been under water for the last 3 weeks and has just now dried out I am very doubtfull that you have seen cougar tracks or any other evidence but we shall see. That is interesting. There are some wild and wooly bottom ground down there. Was the kills covered at at all? I think I've read where the mountain lions will cover their kills to return later. I saw on another board where a hunter had a trail camera picture of one in White County Illinois. That is not far from Posey county at all. I'm looking forward to more info.. See this map. cougarnet.org/bigpicture.html

that tree is not a scratching post. It is devoid of any deep gouges or claw marks. Cats dont make multiple kills either to my knowledge and the bodies would be burried/cached

I know of 2 people that have had actual sightings of a cougar just north of New Haven along the Little Wabash so its not a long put to think one could be int the Point twsp bottoms area. Lots of places for them to stay away from prying eyes....

My brother was out squirrel hunting the first week of October and he said he seen a couger in Northern Perry County. He is not one to make stuff up either. There may be more out there than we think.

Did he report it to anyone? I live and hunt in Perry County and haven't herd anything about it!. If their is one around I'd like to know it!

I would swear I saw one from the stand on Big Creek back in 2010.
But then again, 10 hours in the stand can cause you to see all kinds of things.. Lol

I'm about 98% sure I saw one in Owen county this year. It's my uncle's land and he's said he's heard what sounds like "a woman screaming and a horse dieing". I'm assuming it was the cougar attacking a deer?

I heard that a dead cougar was found along the highway by the Warrick County Sheriff Deputies. Makes me nervous. I'm not keen on hunting coyotes at night and having a damn cougar come investigate my dying rabbit calls.
Several other reports of cougar sightings were reported to Steve Ford of the Evansville Courier and Press News paper. Steve wrote two articles in the Sunday paper about people telling him of sighting cougars in Pose and Vanderburgh County, IN. And Steve claimed that he saw pug marks along the USI to Burdette Park Trail. He said he found these pug marks in the creek bank where the trail bridge crosses one of the creek down by Nurenburgh Road.
I have no doubt that there could be a few of these large cats roaming the tri state. They are elusive creatures and could hide easily. Although I would think that people hunting out of deer stands may see them from time to time.
