Please tell me what gives a bowhunter the right to one more day of deer hunting than any other type of deer hunter as it would seem most bowhunters attest to themselves as being far superior hunters to any other type of deer hunter?? What is so progressive about limiting gun hunting and gun hunters ?? Sounds rather selfish and elitist to me . IMO Also know That I am a bowhunter as well as gun hunter? I've asked that very same question MANY times myself. more about management for more balanced age structure in buck herd and managing the ground I hunt, not really an elitist or against guns, I own plenty, honestly about quality of hunting experience, you know, those evil antlers (least I can be honest about it), Indiana lags behind in progressive management, it is just a matter of time, imo

IMO, the current proposal will make things about right for Indiana. Areas that need deer reduction will get some hjelp. And the changes are tweakes nothing big so it won't result in a deer annihilation in any one area. Good move, should at least equal what Ky. has after it's enacted, IMO

I got an e-mail from the state yesterday: Thank you for contacting the Division of Fish and Wildlife. The proposed changes to deer rules were presented to the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) at their meeting on Jan. 11 and they were given preliminary adoption. The public comment period will last for several months, and there will be at least one public hearing scheduled later this year. You may submit comments on the deer rule proposal to the NRC through their website at www.in.gov/nrc/ . The DNR will provide a response to the comments and the Natural Resources Commission will have an opportunity to review all of the comments and vote on final adoption at a future meeting.
