Completed, IF they are about herd management then shoot does. If they aim to please both trophy hunters while reducing the herd add more antlerless seasons. Those who are not trophy hunters dont care about antlers right?? So open up an early antlerless only and a late season and lessen the firearm days during the rut to appease trophy hunters. Keep one buck rule. Cant wait to see the numbers when people DONT shoot more does due to crossbows, same long non-progressive firearm season, and only 1 late season antlerless season. Im talking about a TRUE statistical increase not a "yep, we did better"!

Crossbows will increase harvests, but it won't be a gaint leap in one year. Over time, it will increase harvest. Already been proven in several other states looking for the same increase.

Timex, Where these increases in the other states attributed to current hunters switching from a compound to crossbow, or was it because it attracted new people to hunting or archery season for that matter?

Or were these states with Telechek? lol..had to throw it in there. I think crossbow results will be negligible and opening up more antlerless seasons will be more effective. Besides, I would like to see those results scientifically controlled.

EXACTLY! Not that i'm against the xbows, cause i'm certainly not. But hunter recruitment from allowing xbows to be used will be minimal imo. Like to have a poll on here, to see how many NON bow hunters that will now xbow hunt, due to the possible xbow season(s).

Thanks, Woody, but I think I'll give it a couple months and see if the shoulder gets better.
I am looking at the "real" crossbows, just in case, but my motto is "spend no dime before it's time". 8^)
The shoulder is starting to improve again now. I made the mistake of resting it for about ten days to see if it regained some strength on its own. Bad mistake! Had to crank the poundage down again to even draw it back with shaky form for a snap shot.
Daily perseverence seems to be the ticket for steady progress. Time will tell how far that takes me, but at least for now it's going in the right direction again.
Sorry for the sidetrack to the thread.

You can look at Ohio, who has been a leader in crossbow use for years now. The limiting factor on crossbow use is the price. It'll take a few years to gain tons of users. But it will increase over time. Telechek? what's the connection? There is none. Data is data, check systems all have flaws and non-compliance.

Unethical people are going find a way to get around the system regardless of which system it is.

Gave them my thanks for considering the real stakeholders in this round! I plan a more detailed response to the proposals during the comment period.

done, expressed disappointment with unchanged firearms seasons, don't matter you can only stall progress for so long, they know that Please tell me what gives a bowhunter the right to one more day of deer hunting than any other type of deer hunter as it would seem most bowhunters attest to themselves as being far superior hunters to any other type of deer hunter?? What is so progressive about limiting gun hunting and gun hunters ?? Sounds rather selfish and elitist to me . IMO Also know That I am a bowhunter as well as gun hunter?
