More My ABS Performance Test blade from October 18th, cut one inch free hanging rope, chopped thru a 2 x 4 twice, still shaved hair. Put three inches of blade in a vise and bend it 90 degrees with no cracking. You can see the blade sprung back with a nice smooth bend in it, no sharp bends. This is the current blade I am working on finishing. This is rough forged and ground and file-worked from my demonstration at the Vanderburgh County 4H Fair back in July. I also forged the tomahawk, nail header, s-hooks, nails and some leaves that week. Here it is now, blade is done but the handle will get some silver-wire inlay and stained to bring out the curly maple and the copper bolsters still need polished. Just for size, that is an eight inch barrel on the pistol. Thanks, Steve Seib

The Damascus fighter is a great looking knife. And I'd love to have that bird knife! Do you sell to anyone or just make as a hobby / for gifts?

Boilermaker,
Sorry for taking so long but I lost my log-on info and recently found it.
I am just a hobby maker but I do sell some knives. I typically make what I'm interested in making and if someone wants it I will sell it if I haven't promised it to someone else.
Last year I only finished one knife and it was donated to a fund raiser. This year I have sold two, I have three others finished and two of those are promised if they still want to purchase them and I have two others I am working on finishing ( 9" bowie & 4-1/2" hunter, both with decorative file work ).
I have got an identical set of bird and gut-hook skinning knives I started at the same time as the ones pictured above, they are the same except the steel is a twist pattern damascus and I was having issues finishing them without scratching the damascus so they were set aside for another day. That's been several years ago and my skill set has grown, I may have to revisit them soon.
I live in Evansville near the Southern tip of Indiana, If your ever in the area, let me know and I can show you what I have available.
