I am in the process of moving out of state and wish to remove the things from my home which I never use.
One of these things is a muzzleloader.
Traditions Whitetail-50 with fiber optic sights in like new condition.
This is a beautiful rifle but I have 5 encores and never shoot it.
I do not wish to sell this, I wish to donate it.
I know that there has to be someone in here who is mentoring a teen with a single mom. A kid who loves to shoot and who wants to hunt but whose mom can't afford to buy them a rifle and they cannot afford it themselves.
I want a kid (boy or girl) who really wants to deer hunt but has no means to do so and who will get some good use from this rifle and have someone there to mentor and guide them in their pursuit to boot.
Any assistance you fellas could give me would be appreciated.
Pass it on to the kids...they are our future.
THANX GUYS!!

Honorable gesture on your part! Kudos to you, Sir! God Bless Steve

A friend of mine is a big brother to a kid who's mother is a druggie and lives with his grandparents. He takes the kids to the movies and out to eat and such. He had mentioned about taking him hunting sometime and I know the kid's family doesnt have any money. I think he would be a good candidate for it.
I know we have some youngsters coming to the Youth Hunt that would love to have that rifle. I hope you consider donating it to Woody and letting him decide who to award it to....maybe by doing a simple "for need" selection. I suspect that for a few of our kidddos this would be their first firearm?

I have now had 3 people suggest donating to Woody and Timex for the youth day event.
I sent Woody a message asking if this would be god with him.
I also said that I would add in a pound of powder and a starter kit I will buy so that the parents do not have to go out and buy anything that would keep the child from shooting. This will be a complete rifle and kit ready to hit the range.
I TRULY want this to go to a kid who really has no possibility of owning a hunting gun. Kind of a once in a lifetime dream come true thing for a kid who truly loves being in the woods and truly wants to learn to hunt. With the hope that it will lead them to a lifetime of hunting that they may pass on to their own children.
I will leave it to Woody and Timex to discuss the specifics of how they wish to proceed and will gladly concede to their wishes if they wish to do this.

By the way....this has gotten me a little hell and a buncha love from the wife when I told her what I was doing. But I bought this rifle with 2 other guns and have almost made all my money back selling just one of the other guns so I can afford to give a li'l back to the cause.
This past weekend we saw this exact same rifle on a dealer's table at the Crown Point gun show that wasn't as nice as this one and it was priced at $215.
She is a li'l shocked that I would give away such a pretty rifle... but we got a couple T/C sidehammers as well as 4 Encore ML barrels and 5 frames so we are anything but lacking in black powder rifles. Plus, I now have an Encore rifle in 44mag that we have fallen in love with.

I am looking to move to the St Louis area. Got a girlfriend there who would die if she had to quit her job with the Cardinals, and I am very close to being debt free so the income is not that big a deal for me for too much longer. So I am looking at jobs over there with good benefits and will move in with her when I start work there. I will be home on weekends til we finish the renovations on the house and when my youngest finishes his last year of school we will sell it with the cash proceeds going to my kids to pay for furthering their education. If they choose not to go to school I keep the money. Pretty simple plan. Just rough being away from the family all week, but we will get through it. Just looks like I won't be doing any hunting this year whatsoever. Gonna REALLY miss the venison in the freezer.

The secret is to find a girlfriend the wife likes!!! Only trouble is that I have now been relegated to a minority vote in my life...LOL
And yes, we will all 3 be living together. A somewhat strange arrangement but it seems to work for us for the past many months so we are going to make it permanent. If it was legal I would marry the woman as well...but...guess that ain't happening since I do like my freedom.

As per more than a few suggestions I shipped this rifle to Woody today right after stops at 2 gun shops and Wal Mart to buy a starter kit for it. The only thing nobody had was patches and round balls for practice. Thanx to everyone for their help and guidance.
