I didn't...decided to pass so that someone who maybe doesn't have any place to hunt might get an opportunity.

My buddy and I put in for an archery hunt at Fort Harrison and then a shotgun hunt at Brown County... He has had luck in the past at Harrison but I haven't been yet. Looking forward to that hunt if it happens...
Now Brown County, has anyone had any luck there? I went for two days and never saw a single deer. The weather cold and they should have been up moving? I was hunting somewhat behind the Abe Martin Lodge and again, I didn't see a single critter.
Does anyone have an idea or some friendly pointers on Brown County and where a good spot may be?
Thanks,

Thanks, I know they did a 600 acre burn somewhere in the park earlier this year. I would contact DNR and find out what area of the park the burn was in, and try to set up in that fringe area or a funnel into/out of the area.

Last year was the first year I applied, and I got drawn for the late hunt at Shades ... and I didn't have the Hunter's Ed course, which gives you "preference".

It may be wrong, but with the luck I hav had getting drawn over the years it almost seems the "I" in front of that number helps too. Now that I've said that, I'm almost afraid to see the draw results.

Yeah thats why i wasn't liking my chances. Last time i had hunters ed was about 15 years ago so all that information is long gone. I saw that when i applied hunters ed got preference. I will make sure to get that done for next time.

Yeah i know but i had forgotten my number. Last week i tried to use the link on the DNR page and got no matches found. Went back tonight and found that they only wanted your name or date of birth. I was entering BOTH last week lol. My number was indeed there...too darn late now though.
